Hey, SaberFans!
What vibrator motors have any of you used with your saber builds? I had the chance to meet a few saber enthusiasts who had installed their own. I was blown away by how much realism it adds to a saber. We didn't have the chance to chat since it was at a concert.
My understanding is there are several motors that can be connected with a simple motor controller and power- but the exact type of motor and how much power, and programming eludes me.
Any ideas? Or has this been discussed elsewhere?

They were never really all that popular to begin with.

I like rumble motors in my sabers, as long as installed well. My JQ Sabers LUKE ROTJ with it is amazing, and one that Obi-wan Ep4 that MH installed ages back, have had no flaws working for years. I am not necessarily dueling with those sabers.
I imagine that may be where the problems start to happen with these motors. I admit, it adds a nice feel to the saber, that a bass speaker doesn't. Also, positioning matters a lot with them.

I installed a rumble motor in 005. It was a 3v that I picked up from digikey. It took a little work to adjust it to work well (resistor) but it came out pretty cool.

I have a few sabers with rumble motors in them and when installed properly the effect is very convincing of the power hum that you feel throughout the saber.
