lightsaber durability
« on: September 10, 2006, 12:09:48 PM »
I'm about to buy a new Anakin ROTS fx-lightsaber and i was wondering how curable the blade is.  I mean if you don't go around whacking things like the saber was a baseball bat, should it last long?  Is it good for dueling?  Any responses would be appreciated.

It it a really great saber. By far my favorite. It is very durable, the only real problem it that it can develop a slight wobble but besides that it's A.O.K. ;)

I have had two Anakins with blinking LEDs but I hear such good reports from other owners that I am inclined to think that I have just been unlucky. I have managed to get a good one now and the LEDs are very bright and evenly lit even though it has taken a few good hard whacks. The blade does feel a little loose though.

Those do look pretty bad, but at least they replaced it. Did you buy it direct from MR?
I got mine from ebay and the first seller replaced it, but the second didn't develop a fault until well after I had bought it, and is now converted to luxeon.

So if i bought a saber from ebay and something went wrong, do you think I'll be able to get it replaced by MR?  Or will I have to give it back to the seller?

I've been to a couple of sights saying that these fx lightsaber aren't meant for dueling.  What do you think?

Thats the problem with these things though. You can't help yourself when theres two sabers. ;D
Everytime I get a saber I tell myself I will not duel. But always I get dead leds.
But about the Anakin, I myself would go with the Obi-Wan. Its super bright.
