Haha, thanks Rafalema :D . I am working on a prop version doing a spotlight over a prop (blaster, lightsaber, etc), so once I have it finished you might be more interested in that.

Thanks again :)

Just finished up two wallpaper backgrounds using some popular effects, just for fun :). Let me know what you think!

"Photic Zone" - 1366 x 768 pixels (Photobucket does shrink it, email me if you want the HD version: durangusdesigns@gmail.com)

"Bubbles!" - 1366 x 768 pixels

I finished the sample for the Prop Storyline Series (the prop version of the CSS). Rob, Madcow here on the forums, of Genesis Custom Sabers graciously let me use the photos of his amazing Darth Bane saber for the sample. Thanks Rob! :)

The sample is sized at 8.5 x 11 inches at 300 DPI. Unfortunately photobucket won't allow me to upload such a huge photo, so they resized it for me. If you want to see what it looks like at high-resolution print quality, email me: durangusdesigns@gmail.com and you can see it.

Pictures are clicky.

Prop Storyline Sheet Sample:

If you're interested in getting one made for your saber, or another prop, send me an email. Still working out pricing for these but right now it's looking at between $35-50. With my upgrade to CS5, there's a new tool for extracting backgrounds that makes it really simple and cuts the time in half, so my prices have been lowered to reflect the change in time spent designing. I'll update this with the info sheet once it's finished.

Let me know what you think!

I was asked recently what I could do for a sci-fi/thriller movie promo poster. So I came up with this sample. It's 300 DPI, though photobucket sized it down considerably, and since it wasn't actually going to be printed, it's about... 4/5 of a page length. It's just for kicks, the actors/actresses mentioned are also just for kicks. :) Created from scratch, only non-scratch image used is a heavily-modified picture I took of my ARKM blade plug for the "transporter" in the top right. The black at the bottom was longer to accommodate cast/crew/companies, but for a sample, I just got rid of it and put 3 actors/actresses, which is why it looks like that.

Comments would be appreciated!

That wouldn't happen to come out on the 21st of December 2012, would it?

Recently designed this as a sample for a client. She asked just to see what I've done with book covers, unfortunately, the jumpdrive I kept most of that on when I recently changed computers was damaged, so I Googled up some images and threw this together. Images are from Stargate Atlantis and The Bourne Identity. Everything in it is fictitious, including the titles/authors and subjects.

Hey, MD - do you write up the interesting saber facts on the saber info sheets?  Or can the client provide those?

For the sample, I wrote them up.

But for the actual thing, the client can provide the descriptions and I can copy it word-for-word.

Hey Paul,

Thank you! I'm glad you like it. I'm not quite sure what you mean by alignment... the text is all aligned the way it should be. I threw this together in about 25 minutes for a client, so I might have easily missed something! :)

Thanks,
-MD
