A (perhaps) complicated custom saber question
« on: January 29, 2011, 01:43:45 PM »
Hey all,

Sooooo, at first I thought I was going to take the Hasbro sound boards that UltraSabers offers for their customs, but after looking at the sounds and features that come with the V2 system from Hyperdyne, I'm itching to take advantage of the CorePulse and MovieFlicker options, as well as extra sound effects.

I like this hilt from UltraSabers, the Arbiter:

http://www.ultrasabers.com/product_p/mhs-arbiter.htm

Emory told me that the interior diameter of the saber is 1", so I know it can accommodate the Hyperdyne system.  I was wondering what is the cost of this system?  I'm ok with paying $150 for a Hasbro sound board since I don't have the electrical skills to install it myself, but I can't spend too much more than that.

Can anyone whose purchased the V2 system give me some feedback/recommendations/suggestions?

the hyperdyne system is an expensive set up my friend
your looking at around the $500 mark for all the components..

but thers no way you will get it inside a hilt with a 1" interior diameter its hard enough getting them in a "fat" mr or hasbro hilt
you have 2 boards (driver and sound boards) and a battery to fit, either a triangular 3 cell pack or stick..

you would probly be better off trying to fit just the hyperblade saber sd and use a single lux led set up and even then things are gonna be tight

Yeah, I got the impression browsing the site that it would be expensive, but I would definitely plan to set aside some money for something like this since the CorePulse and MovieFlicker options are really incredible.  I also love the options of adjustable brightness and ignition/retraction speeds.

Since you're so knowledgeable, I have further questions for you:

1.  What are the components to a complete Hyperdyne system assuming that I have a hilt and a blade ready to go?

Here's what I can ascertain that one would need from looking at their Purchase page:

- V2 LED driver unit
- V2 LED string
- SaberSD sound board
- memory card for SD sound board
- speaker
- ACBAT3 battery
- ACBAT battery recharger

2.  How do you install and change your sound configurations using this system?

3.  How can I determine which custom hilts will accommodate all these parts together?

4.  Do you know how many different saber colors they offer?  I don't see that option listed.

Thanks for your advice!

thats pretty much all you need

you change the sound and configs using the sd card its very easy you get a sound font programme on the supplied cd, and you do it on your pc/laptop

manny hilts simply wont have enough room most master replica and hasbro hilts should be ok as they are fatter than most other although some have installed this stuff inside the slimmer mhs built hilts (modular hilt system)

colour choice when available was red, green, blue, purple, and midas gold
but having all components in stock at the same time is a rareity

Ok, so I'm guessing you plug the SD card into your PC to determine the sound setup?  Seems simple enough.

I'll be ordering my Arbiters within the next day or so.  When they arrive I'll be studying them closely to see if they have the room necessary.  The hilt looks fairly long, and easy for two hands to hold (one of the reasons I choose it) so here's hoping!

Midas gold!!  I'd like to see that!  It would make yellow seem downright cheap!   ;)

Thanks for the info!
