who among us has a hyperblade?

iv recently got mine, its unfinished and needs sound but im just interested to find out who else has 1 and whats your toughts on it?
good points and bad welcome, and what sound config you got.

mine is the luke anh hilt and has the blue v2 driver board i really like the effects it can do pulse/movie flicker etc
what id really like for the sound is a nice hum and clash effect but really loud swing effects

do you own 1 or are you planning on owning 1?

I paid for my blade components a long time ago, they are just waiting to be installed into a Luke ESB hilt.  I would be keen to buy a 2nd hand Hyperdyne bluetooth sound board.

yeah me too i tried to get a v1 sound board but was unable to, the bluetooth set up does look/sound good.
were are your parts at watto? id get it built its nice having a Hyperblade to mess with. (even without sound)

so is it just us 2 who has an interest in hypers?

I cant remember how long exactly but it's well over a year since I purchased my blade components.  It was after seeing Master Yoda's old ESB Hyperblade that really made me want one (this is long before I even knew of this forum).  My Hyperblade components are the same as yours darthsteve and Mark is holding them for me, I have yet to send him my ESB hilt.  The only Hyperdyne soundboard I am interested in is their bluetooth version.  I have never experienced a Hyperblade in person yet, but from what I gather, they are like glorified MR FX's.  Mine will just be a display saber so the rattling of the led's inside the tube does not really concern me.  As with their rumbling motor, that would be quite interesting - ideally I would love some kind of gyroscope instead as well as one of Master Yodas SE crystal chambers - that would be cool!   8)

dont let the ratteling of the leds worry you its only a minor issue and you only hear it when you swing it in an opposite direction.
im same as you my hyper is mainly for display also (and the odd play with) defo wouldnt duel with it, its too expensive to break

really cant wait for some sort of sound board announcement its the uncertaness off it all that gets me, not knowing whats happening etc  :-\

I heard rumor that hyperdyne isn't going to do a bluetooth soundboard anymore....  anyone truth to this?  I would hope not.  It would be a huge redeeming factor on their part from previous boards.  I'm wondering when they'll make a hasbro/MR board compatible system.  Now THAT would rock.  At least it'd give us poor people a shot at a hyperblade w/ sound.   ;D

Jim will make more Bluetooth soundboards if there is a demand for them.  (It is the older in hilt soundboards that have been discontinued only).

Thank you for clarifying the matter.  That is good news.  Still would love to see an MR/Hasbro compatible hyperblade.  Anyone ever do this?  Doesn't show up in search except for comparison shots.

Again... the question is flawed as I've posted tons of places.  It varies.

The hyperdyne blades don't regulate the power (and hence brightness) so it varies as the batteries are used up.  If I remember correctly they consume around 4 amps at 8.4V as seen from Eandori's testing videos.  So that's 33.6W.

Li-ions are not designed to take that drain so the wattage will be less (not to mention using them that way is dangerous).  So NiMH is the best solution.
