The Dr. Who Sonic Saberdriver
The Sonic Saber started as just an Aligo saber. But, the customer wanted to have a Tardis engraved on it. Well, I am not much of a Dr. Who fan so, I actually didn't know what it was and had to look it up. In doing so I got all kinds of cool ideas especially when I saw one of the original Sonic Screwdrivers. They already kind of look like lightsabers. So, that is what we went for.
The details:
NS 3.0 sound board
2 watt speaker
Custom speaker housing to increase volume
TrustFire batt 3.7 (due to space)
3 watt Rebel blue LED
black/red ring lighted AV switch
Custom Tardis Engraving with the windows cut out to reveal the lighted crystal chamber.
Custom made blade plug to make it look more like a Sonic Screwdriver.
Polished hilt
and all colors are powder coated for durability.
This was a fun saber to make and doing the research was fun too. However, I am still not a Dr. Who fan. I know, I know, I should be drug out and beaten by a Dolic or whatever they are called! ;)
I tried watching. I really did! just more of a space sci fi kind of guy.
I think this saber came out really nice and is fun to look at and to play with. It is well balanced and feels good in the hands as all the Aligo sabers do. Most Aligo Sabers are made more for hard use and dueling. i wouldn't recommend that with this one because of the crystal chamber but, the sound boards is housed and protected as well as everything else so, it will last for a life time.
