...so, any rules on multiple entries?

The council will discuss the rules. It’ll probably be a mashup of the old JSSDC contest rules and the way FJK and Lord Maul run the TCSS contests.

I find your arguments vague and unconvincing.

Quiet! *Slap* And there’s a fresh one if you mouth off again.

It's a joke, K2. you metal nightmare... The answer is obviously "no problem".

Where are we at participant wise?  7?  That's not bad.  I suspect that we'll get a few more, maybe lose a couple before October, but that ain't bad

...Okay, no-one's going to believe this. I almost don't believe it.

In an utterly unbelievable turn of fate, one of the two flashguns I acquired for this challenge is almost MHS compatible. I'm not kidding. The outer diameter of most of the body is 36.65mm/1.445", so lightly sanded MHS shrouding will fit around it, and the inner diameter is 34.75mm/1.365", which means that standard MHS male threads fit inside it with a near perfect friction fit.
Better late than never.

Sheesh, shoot a few dozen stormtroopers, and blow up a few more with thermal detonators, and this is the reputation I get.    :cheesy:

@SRTM - that's a solid score.  You want one more?  Try it in gold, i.e. sand down a 22g sink tube. The added bonus is: 1) now it's compatible with standard 1.5"ID/1.625"OD tube so-on and-so-forth; and 2) you can solder to it.

@KS2O, [bestcassianandor] I will amend that, and say it is now a compliment, because it it not MY nightmare  Don't ever change, my friend. [/bestcassianandor] :azn:

Is that the kind of sink tube that TCSS sell the 1.5" to MHS sctrew thread adapter for? because if so, nope. I found early on that that kind of sink tube is a US/Canada only thing. On my side of the Atlantic, we use different plumbing fittings, so they are virtually unobtainable.

Yes, TCSS sells the 1.5" sink tube itself too. :azn:

Also, here's the 1.625"ODx1.509"ID Aluminium tube

EDit: you don't really need the dedicated sink tube adapter, MHS was designed to fit the ID of those tubes, so any standard MHS V1 will fit.

which tube, the sink tube or the DX engineering stuff? If it's the latter, I'll grab some, I need to restock, I'm nearly all out of the stuff I bought in... er... 2017, I think.

That sink tube that fits over MHS is the one I linked to at TCSS. It's chrome-plated brass and 1.5" OD, you can sand the chrome off to expose the gold color... The second link to DX is the aluminium tube that fits OVER the chrome-plated, brass sink tube.

So this is a complicated way of saying you can use MHS with a brass (sink tube) shroud, with another aluminium shroud as a 3rd layer.  Hopefully that makes sense... mostly.

Question for my fellow participants in this challenge: if you're hacking a flashgun, what exactly are you planing on doing with any text engraved into the flashgun itself? Paint it over? sand it off and replace with the same in aurebesh?
