The link above shows the EFX 'work in progress' saber.  I used some reference pictures of the Ray Park 'hero' and the EFX version to settle some of my final details and get a color reference.  I would imagine EFX went to great pains to replicate the Ray Park saber so I would think there coloring is probably the most accurate.  I decided that since my POC was machined and looked brand new, I would give it a brnad new paintjob.  If you go by the EFX version, it is hard to tell if the black is worn paint, a wash or just 'dirt and grime' from years of use.  This is why I am not finishing the saber - it will be up to you to decide how you want the saber to look.  Look throught the rest of the thread for pictures of the EFX compared to the sceen used saber owned by Ray Park.

yes it is hard to tell it looks like dirt to me in the grips...

LDM's build was painted. Mine was PCed(flat black).

Gloss black paint - I know because I painted it myself before sending it to LDM.

With these runs happening so close together for me it's impossible to justify getting on another one, but once this run is over, so is the chance for a better than MR maul staff .  clearly this one is "the best" maul staff, but given the rarity of a DM1 I don't even see a second "better than MR" option.  That's my main reason for jumping in on the run, because once it's done, that's it. 

I'm happy to continue supporting Wat if he continues making these fabulous sabers.  I sure could use a breather though.   :D

BTW, I grew up with my grandpa saying that line all of the time (still does) so all credit for that goes to him.   ;D  It's his trademark.
