The MKVIs were numbered internally too.  I got saber 46.

Yeah.  In black, blue and red Sharpie marker.  They are just reference numbers for me to keep track of what parts go with each other since alignment is an issue with threaded parts.  The VV Starkillers had a nice engraved serial number on the grip bars.  Easy to dismiss unless you are looking for it.  Most sabers don't lend themselves well to being serial numbered unobtrusively.

Mine has black sharpie!  Lol; even so, they're numbered.  Perhaps not for the customer, but I kind of like the numbering concept anyway.  Indeed, all of the major parts are labelled 46, and I've always thought numbering was more for the machinist's reference anyway.

I prefer no numbering. I know how many were made....minus spares. 25 VV Starkillers but there are two extras out there. To me knowing that would diminish it's rarity

I would also agree with no numbering on the outside,it seems to me that work is progressing quickly,do you expect these to be done ahead of your time frame you origionally gave? These progress pics are making me ;D ;D ;D.

i realise it is up to ace in the end but i like the idea of the hidden one on the inside, and nothing on the outside.

I have no idea.  The maching seems to be going fast because you are only seeing major parts after first operations.  There are a lot of small parts to machine and almost all the parts already shown have to go on the mill for more machining.  The best bet is to just sit back and enjoy the show.  I really have no idea when machining will be completed.  I only work on the sabers on the weekend and I am taking a week vacation later this month.  That is likely to set me back a bit in scheduling since I will need to make up for the lost week of work.  My best guess is October still although I am leaning to early November before machining is finished.
