Darth Vader ANH Lightsaber


I've been on a replica kick lately. I realized that no one had ever done a really balls out version of Vader's saber, so I figured I'd give it a whirl. The saber doesn't split apart like the Graflex which makes it hard to do a chassis. Not wanting to mar the hilt with extra screws, I realized that a full disconnect chassis was the only way to go. I had Arkai cut me some custom sized chassis disks with no holes in them at all, I wanted to drill it all myself. The crystal chamber is made from some hard drive motor coils as well as two real crystals.

Specs:
- PC 1.4
- Red P4
- Custom full disconnecting chassis
- Crystal chamber
- 7.4V Li Ion battery pack (1100mAh)
- Halon Customs disk set

No. The MPP is a solid tube, you can't disconnect it in the middle like on a Graflex.

But they were made a long time ago... And certainly, the quality doesn't compare to yours. :-[

I personally had the hardest time figuring out how to have the chassis completely removable without having to remove any switches. The use of the bulb release is ingenious! :o I'd never even thought of that. The inside switches to light up the crystal chamber are brilliant as well.

From someone who has toiled at length on trying to perfect this saber, you have my sincerest and humblest applause.
