My Custom Painted Heavy Industrial Stand And Some Older Stuff!
« on: February 26, 2014, 08:20:05 AM »
Hello,

A week or so back, I took delivery of 4 Lord Blako's Heavy Industrial Stands. I can't say enough how great these German made stands are. I am sold on metal stands! I hope to have Tron/Solo's Hold ones next!

I did some light sandings on it and realised I don't need to. At this point, I realised the hardener I have had expired!!!

So, I painted this without the hardener but sprayed several layers of gloss and matt clear coats after!

Before:

I didn't take in-progress shots. This is NOT the effect out of a spray can. I spray painted this with a trick I learn several years ago with an ice cream stick! A few shades of black to white and I got the granite effect I wanted. A few crack lines and some weatherings and done!

And after:

May not be to everyone's taste but I have some fun. My passion is spray painting anyway!

The others stuff I built and painted several years ago:

And I also do concept designs, cake bakings and BBQ'ings! Soon, I will build my own lightsabers as its my addiction right now!

Thanks for looking!

Wow! Great paint job! The stone look goes really well with the Jedi logo.

Welcome to saber building. You've taken your first step into a larger world!

Very cool stone look - i wouldn't have guessed it was made out of metal (if i didn't have one myself)!  :)
Awesome skills there!

Thank you! If the metals are thicker, I think the painting will make it more convincing. :))

Thank you, guys!

Great stuff. Love the paint. I remember doing that stuff with display set for my cars and planes.

Now that's a Stand! It doesn't that a way for the main element it enhances it.

Let your imagination go wild.

Thank you! I am on the opposite because I never paid attention to stands until I got back into this hobby.

Thanks again guys! Will tackle a hilt next!
