Jedi Yar-Nala's Art
« on: May 13, 2009, 05:57:31 AM »
So here is a rough sketch of the type of illustration I can do. This is done in rough pencils and has an unfinished quality, this is often a desired look many people like. The illustration could be more cleaned up in ink, but I sort of like this approach.
I guess it is more of a Graphic Novel/Comic Book take on a Jedi Padawan. I do cartoony illustrations too, but it depends on my mood, or what I get commissioned to do.

As for this drawing, its inspired by, but not necessarily, Obi-Wan from TPM.

What do you think?

Here is a non-jedi illustratoin I did of Gulliver from Gulliver's Travels.

I did the image in three styles (rendering wise)...tried to experiment with it.

One was the base, illustration in pen and ink, the next version I went in with the computer to add colors, and the third I added shading to it with a pencil.

Going with the Sci-Fi theme...did a bunch of character/creature/vechicle designs.

Thought I'd throw this last one in for now...

This is Grail from the comic book Wetworks. He is comic book hero created by Whilce Portacio of Marvel/DC/Image Comics fame.

The character is Filipino, and to my knowledge, the only Filipino superhero that went popular (McFarlane Toys, even made a couple of action figures of him).

He fights with arnis sticks (Filipino martial arts), and do to his mutation/power thingy, he charges them up sort of lightsaber like, which I thought was cool.

Me being Filipino, I did my take on this character. Pencils and ink, with colors done on the computer.

Enjoy and please feel free to comment. Thanks.

Very cool stuff.
I like Gulliver #2 & 3...and the sci-fi stuff looks good too. 8)

I'd be interested in seeing what other Jedi renders you've done.
