Graflex with Yoda Chassis
« on: September 07, 2011, 08:58:25 PM »
Hello All,

This is my latest build, a Luke Skywalker ANH Vintage Graflex with a Yoda Chassis. I was lucky enough to get the Vintage Graflex from a friend who didn't want it and had no clue of the true value it held so he just gave it to me ;D. It was in near perfect condition with no blemishes or rust, everything was fully intact. I contacted Yoda at the time and he had just finished a run of his DIY Chassis kits. I purchased a nickel plated kit and started the build. The saber houses a US2.5 board, 3watt Seoul P4 blue led, TCSS speaker, two 3.7 Li-ion rechargeable batteries, 1" graflex adapter, graflex eye screw, NEW rubber grips, bubble strip card and a Chassis kit. This saber is pretty loud when the chassis is exposed, however when closed it's a bit muffled. Of course this is to be expected considering the only holes are drilled directly beneath the d-ring. I am very pleased with the outcome and overall look of the saber. I have been wanting one of these for quite some time and I'm so pleased I finally got the chance to build one. This was a very fun build with only a few hick ups that weren't hard to overcome. The pieces fit really well together but they sometimes require a bit of drilling, tapping, cutting and lots of patients. This is a VERY tedious build but well worth the hours of complex constructing. This DYI is not for a novice though, if you have no experience with building small models or even sabers for that matter then I strongly suggest you get a sabersmith to build this for you. It's a moderate construction but it requires lots of time and skill.
I have complete appreciation and respect for Yoda for making these kits available and allowing me to have the opportunity to step into his shoes for a week. It's so amazing that he can do this fine work and have each part look so unbelievably detailed. Thank you my friend and MTFBWY...

If you have any questions or comments please feel to contact me.

Enjoy,

Lord Bane

Nice job on this build L.B. ;)
The hilt turned out beautifuly and best of all it was FREE :o
Man, I have not heard an US board in a while.  Any plans for a PC or CF upgrade in the future?
Ever since I sold my Graflex IV, I have been wanting another.  This reminds me why.
Congrats.

Yeah,

I'll probably upgrade in the near future. Maybe a PC, we'll see.
Thanks for the compliments.

How much would this exact build be? Grand total, finished and sent. I am a klutz and would break it if I tried to build it.

Great job! indeed, it seems much more complicated that I could imagine to build that kind of saber...
