It looks like a Larbel to me. The slot depth is a pretty good indicator. Larbel Qui-Gons can be converted, although they require a great deal of machining to do so. Try contacting GG (General Grievous), he's done them before.

I agree with SS1, it looks like a Larbel. The offset covertec knob is a big indicator

I think it is a larbel. I have included photos below of my Larbel and it looks the same to me except it looks like someone painted your vented handle section and the chrome washer under the red button gloss/semi-gloss black.

I hope this helps,

@enaswede: i agree with you thats its most likely a larbel. the offset covertec knob gives it away thanks for those pics. im gonna see if i can get that red thumb screw loosened up n paint that shim silver under it

@ki adi: i remember you posting that set of pics on a different larbel qui i had ashort time ago.

thanks for the info guys and itll probably end up in the TF soon.

Before, painting the "shim" silver... you might want to just try and remove the black paint and polish it because it should be aluminum underneath and it would look better if you can pull it off in its natural state.

that piece is actually black plastic...along with the knob. easily replaceable.

and i sold my qui before it was converted because i was quoted by another member who hada good rep and did quite a few solid  larbel coversions and mine was solid. i was quoted a hefty price just to mill it out to makeit hollow for electronics and still retain the deep grooves. my wallet wasnt that fat at the time so i let it go.

its possible but very $$$$ to do

I have a Larbel Qui that was solid and had Goodman convert it, he did a fantastic job! He has'nt been on the forums in quite some time, so again, I suggest GG. Jango also does amazing work, but I belive his shop is closed for the time being.
