FINISHED! 98% atleast
« on: October 17, 2008, 03:42:42 PM »
Unknown orange led

CF 2.5
4.8v Batterypack
Recharge port/kill key in pommel

Style 5 Bladeholder
Custom 2.5" neck section, Same id as ribbed/vgrooved section.
Shilt 4 w/ Solar Flat Black Powder Coat in 5 large grooves on hilt section.
MR luke ROTJ Control box, aux button in box.
V1 Style 3 pommel with style 1 grill I think.

Kill key was made from a plastic drywall anchor and a knob off of an MR Maul wiht the short threads. Long threads will hit the port inside.

That looks really nice! :) I like the ROTJ activator box, I've never seen that used on a custom before!

I like the design alot, it is simple yet elegant just like a light saber should be. Did you have any problems with the activation box on the saber, because when I did my Luke ROTJ conversion that was the only piece I had trouble with?

WOW  :o  Nice looking saber you finally made there Alias.  I am glad you finally got a style you liked.  I think all your months of planning finally paid off as that is one awesome looking saber.

LOL thanks guys!

Yeah the planning was a major...., Well yeah ah lets see, questions.

spidershrimp I cant take all the credit for the design, I forget who it was but I mentioned revers the hilt section and put a luke box on it and BAM instant awesomeness.

RJ I actually don't have problems with the on/off switch, Cause of the paint that's on there and the plastic piece inside inside Iam actually pulling the switch up so the "lever" is actually being pressed against the box so its actually pretty stiff for on/off.

Thanks for the compliments folks but iam not done with it yet, still got a couple things to do with it yet.

Painting here and painting there and hopefully after handling it it will get a nice weathered look.

Eventually and I know my brother is going to kill me for it but I want to see about replacing the faux led tryangles with real leds for an armed and low battery indicator but thats for a much much much later date and if my brother will want to tear it apart to do the soldering :D

That looks really good. have you thought about using the new MPS 3 V2? IMHO I think it would look a lot better

I thought about it but after some discussions and such the v1 is the better choice, I got a luke rotj Mr pommel and its about the same size and it just looked to bulky.

That and with my grip style I actually grip part of the pommel and the bigger version would just be to much and hinder how I perform with the saber.

Which I warmed up to like in a few min after final assembly, Yeah somethings I need to work on like sometimes I can feel my blade screw and I got to get it in my head that opposite of that is the control box.

:D :D :D

Ya I dont' know if more leds will fit into the controle box, I got stuff crammed in there the way it is. ;D  The hardest part was the recharge/speaker chamber. I think it turned out good without twisting wires and such. I tell ya those maul bladeholders work for almost everything. ;D
