to convert or not?????
« on: April 22, 2009, 07:42:14 PM »
 ??? ??? ???

not sure I want to convert or not
I recently won a  MR anakin 2002 EL from Evil Bay
that was advertised as Non working sound, broken blade ect.
  i finally received it today

and just as I thought  battery corrosion was the culprit
it works FINE although the broken blade cant be repaired , the EL sheet  lights up like a charm!

I have a bit of experience with EL sheet ( 8) i'll post pics later of what I did with EL sheet :o)

however does any one know what the red ,black and white wires are doing at the far end of the Blade?

and as I said before a bunch of saber enthusiasts Can't be wrong...
despite a working blade, would you convert to a Lux??

gimme your thoughts ;D

IMO convert it.  You have just so many reasons to go lux.  But some don't like it so consider it you must.

You could also post in the TF want adds for blade parts to fix your broken blade should you decide to fix it.  I sold an Obi component blade with the led strip intact for $5.  ;)

Convert it! Sounds like you got it for a pretty good price...so a conversion would be well worth the money.

Convert it.  No one will give you huge $$ unless it is mint in the original mint box.  They only seem to be going for like $120 right now so, It will actually have the most value if you convert it and...you will like it a lot better!

In the blade tip is the motion sensor. The red, black, and white wires (they should be wrapped in gray heatshrink) go from the blade tip to the board. SAVE IT if you plan on doing a conversion.

If you plan on upgrading and using a different board, PM me and I'll trade. I like the more compact electronics of this saber.  8)
But definitely do convert it to a Lux. You'll never regret that decision. Trust me.  ;)

It's do-able, but I haven't seen anybody do it yet. Usually they like to keep the MRs their original color.
