Title: obi-wan review
Post by: Irkis Clag on August 17, 2006, 03:46:40 PM
the story: when i woke up this morning i thought this would be a typical day at DarthArn's house (i slept over at DA's). we were practicing our fx duel for the tallent show or something (i can't remember), and my mother called. she gave me the wonderful news:o. she also said that when she was going to pick me up she would bring it with her. DA and i hurried up to his room to get batteries. we waited for a couple minutes and she was here. we ran down the stairs to get it. once we got it we ran back up stairs  to open it. once we got it out of the brown box it came in  :o. i really like the new box MR made. then we quickly opened the second box and there it was :o. we quickly, but gentily took it out of the box and unwaped it. then put the batteries in. and when i turned it on came on like it was supposed to. and everything worked fine. then i went home and took pics of it.

finally the review: when i first turned it on at DA's house i noticed it was fairly quieter than my other sabers that didn't change my opinion on the saber. anther thing i noiticed was that the hilt was very comfortable. the on/off swich was hard to move, but after a while it got easer to move.  the overall weight of the saber was almost the same as the Anakin, but less than the Mace. the on/off swich is out of the way when your spining the saber. that makes it a lot easer to spin it. the blade isn't as splochy as i thought it would be. the blade is also very bright like the rest of the FFX lightsabers.

here are the pics:

Cool review. The Obi Wan seems awsome. Id get it over anakin anyday but in my case, it comes down to which is cheaper and how much patience I have.

Suh-Weet!

Glad we have another Obi FFX fan here.

Great Pics!  The 2nd and 4th look like a real lightsaber (well, real as in "movie" real) ahhah

& here I thought we couldn't talk about how DOPE the Master Obi Wan is.

What's NEXT on the list. Master Yoda's FX? Hmm, We'll have to wat and see that.

I've seen the Darth Maul, Anakin and the Luke and didn't buy em when I saw em but I HAVE to have the Master Obi Wan.

 ;D

Hey man, lol, i bet DarthArn wasnt too happy about u getting one.  So what was the reason that she just bought the fx over. Did she buy it for u for no reason?  I gotta get one of those.

I can see what you mean by that, a luke hilt with a blue blade.

Id rather get mine at stores rather from online because if you get them in a store you can use some coupons and gift cards (i got my obi wan for 62 bucks) and if there defective like my mauls they are easier to return, but who cares....nice review> ;D

Interesting. That 4th photo actually shows the real size. The 2nd photo appears to be the camera angle that alot of excited fans use to dislplay the hilt, rendering the blade to a shorter length.

The Obi is awesome I agree.  I got mine today, but am going to have to send it in to MR for replacement-it arrived with a crooked blade and a dark spot 1/3 the way up the blade. :P Am really looking forward to getting a replacement.  Anyone else have a crooked blade?  The only way I could tell it is crooked is by looking into the emitter at the base of the blade.

Sorry, bad habit from being a cop and ex-soldier, I see details people usually don't.

The blade is half an inch shorter than my Luke ROTJ blade. I noticed it looked shorter the minute I took mine out of the box. Can we get other people to measure their blades from emitter to blade tip?
