I'm about to buy a new Anakin ROTS fx-lightsaber and i was wondering how curable the blade is. I mean if you don't go around whacking things like the saber was a baseball bat, should it last long? Is it good for dueling? Any responses would be appreciated.

It it a really great saber. By far my favorite. It is very durable, the only real problem it that it can develop a slight wobble but besides that it's A.O.K. ;)

I have had two Anakins with blinking LEDs but I hear such good reports from other owners that I am inclined to think that I have just been unlucky. I have managed to get a good one now and the LEDs are very bright and evenly lit even though it has taken a few good hard whacks. The blade does feel a little loose though.

I have one with very bad dead LEDs but MR replaced it for me ;)

Those do look pretty bad, but at least they replaced it. Did you buy it direct from MR?
I got mine from ebay and the first seller replaced it, but the second didn't develop a fault until well after I had bought it, and is now converted to luxeon.
-
I got mine at best buy but I thought I'd have a better chance at calling MR and did
-
So if i bought a saber from ebay and something went wrong, do you think I'll be able to get it replaced by MR? Or will I have to give it back to the seller?
-
You could get it replaced by MR if the warrenty hasn't expired
-
does he have to be an authorized retailer?
-
I think so but i'm not sure
-
I've been to a couple of sights saying that these fx lightsaber aren't meant for dueling. What do you think?
-
they aren't meant for ROUGH dueling. light dueling is fine
-
Thats the problem with these things though. You can't help yourself when theres two sabers. ;D
Everytime I get a saber I tell myself I will not duel. But always I get dead leds.
But about the Anakin, I myself would go with the Obi-Wan. Its super bright.
-
mines great iv had a few duels with it and its fine (had mine a year )
-
best buy? I don't see them in their online website...when did you aquire yours Master Windu?
-
I got mine in the Chrismas of '05 but I've seen them there as late a winter '06 (the last time I was at best buy) but they only have vaders
-
Ahh, I see now...well, maybe tomarrow I'll make a trip if I'm lucky, thank you for the information Master Windu.
As for my sabers, I've dropped them whilst practicing saber spins on concreteand aside from a few cosmetic dings and a very light movement in one of the blades, I've felt no give from them, no breaks, no dark spots.

i bought a like new ani rots off of ebay. had for one month no dueling no drops only used a few times and the whole blade flickers. kind of like moive flicker but i know it is broken. any ideas for a fix i can't afford a lux as i am doing a 400 dollar graflex.

Yes, the Anakin ROTS is a very good saber-my only saber (lol)
i have been duelling with my friends a lot, and not a single led had blown!
