My brand new Anakin ROTS saber
« on: January 14, 2006, 08:18:33 AM »
Hi everybody
I am actually from France
so please forgive my very bad english
I bought a ankin ROTS saber

Just to give you guys an idea I pay here 140euros when you pay in USA 100dollars, the regular price in france is 210 euros  ::)
the hilt is cool I personally think this is the best Force-Fx of the actual production,
the old ones were too big compare to the LE,
the ESB darth vader is very good too the hilt is exactly the same that the LE except some piece of plastic
but the size is the same
but the point is that this is Darth Vader's saber so the hilt is big because is a big guy  ;D and therefore the polycarbonate blade seems to small in this big hilt and there's no place for the hands
This ROTS saber is a little bit bigger than the LE it's noticeable but the good point is that you have place for your hand  ;) and he's much more easy to handle
the bad think is the grip and the activator which can hurt your hand

I have to say that I am a little bit disappointed
Because when I pratice with the saber the blade makes noise like the plastic was cracking and the the blade is far to be completely stable in the hilt and when you swing it hard the blade twist a little
For something I pay 140 euros ...  :-\

The more surprising is the attitude of MR
They are funny guys => they say " Do not use your saber for dueling" but they didn't hesitated to make promo video (very good by the way) show 2 people dueling with Fx saber ... and they write on the box clash sounds but you have to hit pretty hard to have any sound  ... Okay MR  ;D  and when you open the box they said that The Force FX light saber was produced as a collectible but only the body is made of metal all inside is plastic and even the end of the hilt which hold the blade and the activator , it means that the chrome and the gold should quickly take off

newbielink:http://img368.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc42958bn.jpg [nonactive]

The light is good but sometimes it seems that there are little black dots , nothing serious
And the light up/light down seem to "lag" or "jerk" , is not regular (I don't know how to say)

Regarding the electronic
The motion sensors are very slow don't react as they sould
And the sound is too loud but is not really big deal

To conclude the saber looks great but is not so well made

A+

PS: don't hesitate to correct me  ;)

Hi and welcome to the forums. It's always a pleasure to see new members from Europe. What comes to the Anakin ROTS saber I think that the motion sensors are best so far and overall one of the best fx sabers out there. 140 € ain't a bad price for your saber, because these things cost 180 €'s here + shipping. Anakin ROTS minor problems are wobble blade and gold accents that may wear off. MR boxes "Do not use your saber for dueling" should not be taken too literally, cause it's there so that MR wouldn't be responsible when people banging other people's heads with sabers and causing some damage. They don't want to be responsible for "loose limbs" and people's sues against them, cause there wasn't any warnings on the box.  ;)

Great review. The price in Denmark is also ridiculous, about 200$ that sucks...

Welcome to the forums, Josseph. I hope you are enjoying your saber even though you are a little disappointed with the build quality.

The quality of the individual sabers does sem to vary. I have had problems with the Ani ROTS myself, but my other sabers have been just fine.

Your English is superior in every way to my French. Thankyou for sharing your experience and opinion.
