Hello dudes and duddettes  :D

Well I am starting two little mini saber projects:

- luke ROTJ V2
- vader ROTJ ...  yes!

For this i used a luke ANH, vader ESB and luke ROTJ mini sabers.
Parts from luke ANH went to the luke ROTJ and parts from the vader ESB went to the luke ANH.

it's still a work in progress... we'll see how it goes.

here are some pics:

I'll keep you posted with updates.

I'll be watching this with great interest!

I already have an extra Luke ESB and a Luke ROTJ sitting around for just such a purpose =)

I've got  more knobs Beggar, if you want one i could send it to you.  ;)

I am thinking of cutting the ESB vader's emmiter to fit it into the graflex.  I've already dissasembled the vader and it fits.
Then paint the top part of the graflex black.  Still need to figure out the parts under the shroud and the allen bolts.
I am planning on a weathered version of the ROTJ vader as the ANH luke is already kinda weathered (grips, and damage of dissasembly, one s or two? lol)
Then perhaps i'll try and make a pristine one.

I'll keep you posted Biggs.  We need a V2!! I have a knob for you if ya like.

Hey R2,

On your Vader ROTJ, how about some small headless set screws for the hex bolts? I'm sure that a hoody or model shop should have them small enough to fit the right scale (or close to it).

you'd have to use precision drill bits on a dremel, and then tap the holes to the proper thread pitch for the setscrews. ;)

Thanks BEN!  i will keep posting pictures of the process to keep you updated  :D

@ DT :  I was thinking headless screws too, but also found some very small black screws but i think they are a little too big.  I'll try and find some
            that fit.

The precision dremmeling time is what might be a little difficult, but i know someone who can do it for me (i guess lol)

For this weathered ROTJ vader i used an ANH luke (for the 7 grips) but i might be using a luke ESB for the pristine version (because of the d-ring).

No progress for now.

I received another luke ROTJ today on the mail (that's great cause i got a little nervous when i started modifying the only one i had) ROTJ luke minis are getting harder to find.

That's all for now, have a nice day fellow fx-saberers  ;D

Excellent R2 I'll be interested to see how these turn out for you.
(I have a Luke ANH I chopped in half for obvious reasons ;))

Thankyou Yoda.

So you making a Vader ROTJ too master Yoda?  :'(  oh noooooo,  now mine is going to look horrible next to yours  :'( :'( so unfair ;D :D

Did you chop it in half to use only the upper graflex part and fit it into another bottom?!?
What are your plans on it?

Anyway i look forward to exchange of experiences on making this mini.

I'm not worried about messing up the hilts making a Luke V2. Worst thing that can go wrong is getting a paint job you dont like and then just having to strip and repaint.

However, making a Vader ROTJ worries me.

Yes, i meant the Vader ROTJ.  There are some minis at risk, specially that Vader ESB lol.

Hope i only kill one.

By the way, i am starting tonight with the V2 luke.  I'll keep you posted with pics later this night (it's night over here).
Also want to take some pics of how i managed to take the ESB clamp and fit it into the ANH luke. (there was some sawing involved)
So stay tuned for some extra pics of the first steps of the process.

cheers
