Minor update:
 
I didn't like the first piece I had on there,  and replaced it with a new one.  The first one was made from 1 1/2?" brass tube,  and it just didn't conform to the curve as well,  being it was a larger diameter to begin with.  I made the new one from a piece of 1 1/4" 20ga. brass instead,  and it was a much better fit.  It was however,  just  bit short of being able to join like the one I did on BS-25,  so I rounded off the corners of the band and epoxied it in place any way.  I think it looks pretty good on there,  after the wet-sanding and polishing treatment.

Now to get the switch box polished up.

I received a package from France last Friday:

Wiring shall commence sometime this week.  I have the switch box polished and the activation switch figured out....I replaced the short SPST with a DPDT long style switch.  Everything will still fit just fine.  I am out of speakers,  so I must await the arrival of the Railmaster 2-watt 1.1" ones I have ordered from ebay.

Yes and no on pulling out all the stops.  The speaker in question is not the Mega-bass version others have posted about,  but rather this one:

This has been tested by member Obi-Shane and found to be a suitable replacement for the Regal brand that is sold at TCSS,  which lately, has hit-or-miss quality.

I have a few of those.  Have you used them before?  I don't want to say what i have found if you have found them to be just as good as the regal.

Personally, no.  I trust Obi-Shane's opinion,  though and am willing to give these a try.  Otherwise, I'll get some more of my usual speaker from Mouser which I know to be of good quality.

Quality of speakers can be discussed in another topic,  though,  no need to derail this one.
