Yeah I've seen it and I wanted to do it but there isn't any point!

They start off at newsagents then after a while they stop so you have to subscribe to a service. Then after a few months they'd discontinue it, so you'd be spending all that money for a half built model that they can't be bothered to finish.

I'd love to meet someone who has actually completed one of these "subscription" based models..

I just saw this tonight too. Sounds kinda scamish to me.

it seems that its being done by one of the reputable companies in the model business this time and backed by disney/lucas so i dont think it will finish prematurely , or if someone wanted a large falcon like this where might you buy one and at what cost?

You could probably get a ready built one for about £400-500 but as to where from I wouldn't have a clue!

I subscribed for a year to a sun and Earth planetarium made of brass, solar system model projects,Build a Model Earth Moon & Sun Orbiter - YouTube was very beautiful, about $800 Aus in all, no problems with deliveries in the entire period. My partner bought a similar brass Orrery (like a model of the solar system) that was also offered over a year, but already assembled, for only $200. Also beautiful, and must have been delivered successfully to the person who made it. And we are in Tasmania in Australia, a relative backwoods. So it might be legit, as far as them continuing to send parts.

I would rather invest the money in a Lego 10179 Falcon or a rebuild :)

Haha... Well, it's a fool's errand, boy. The Emperor's army is infinite. You'll eventually be killed... or worse... and nothing will have changed.

yeah i saw this on tv it looks and sounds great but when you look in to it it will cost a fortune to see through to the end and if they discontinue it your screwed, the reason they usually discontinue them is because people stop buying them and they cant sell enough to meet profits so it gets discontinued,
its a gamble, how many issues is it?

They'll send you 4 issues a month at about $50 USD and they plan on issuing out 100 issues over a 2 year period. It'll cost about $1300 USD depending on inflation... I don't think it'll be worth it,but that's just my humble opinion. I think I'd rather just buy a really high end lightsaber for that price.

Deagostini tiny is a very reputable company.

I have build out 2 of their subscription series products - the Japanese Zero and the Disneyland Park build.

The builds were extremely high quality - the Zero for example was all laser cut metal, and included all the tools needed to make the model.  It was not a complicated build, and could be done by most anyone.

I really would have no hesitation to subscribe again - well, except for the cost.

However, when you are done, you would have the highest quality, most detailed build of the Falcon...

Respectfully,
