Aayla Secura's Star Wars Dioramas
« on: April 27, 2006, 12:02:17 AM »
As promised to a couple certain board members, here are my Star Wars dioramas that I have back home at my parents' house. :)

We start off with the Cantina at Mos Eisley. My personal favorite setup I've created. :) I started this little famous movie scene three years ago, and even to this day it is still in the works. These aren't even the most up-to-date pictures, as the arrangement has changed a bit since the last photo session. With the new Mos Eisley wave coming out next month in Hasbro's current Star Wars line, The Saga Collection, there's plenty more to add to this diorama. ;)

An overview of three dioramas... Mos Eisley Cantina, Jabba's Palace, Clone War.

Next up, Jabba the Hutt's Palace. This is my second oldest diorama, which is also being continiously updated as newer figures are released. Watch as Luke Skywalker's plan to free Han Solo and his friends is foiled, and he is brought before the vile gangster. :)

My Clone War diorama has gone through many changes. I began it in 2003, starting out with the Republic Gunship. This setup originally comprised of a variety of AOTC/Clone Wars Clone Troopers, but with the release of ROTS, the new styled troopers took over, and even then this setup has been changed many times.

Here now is my most recent setup, which was assembled last fall. The Battle of Kashyyyk... featuring Yoda, Commander  Gree, and the wookiees!

I don't consider these dioramas, but they're neat little setups worth showing. :)

Some of my Unleashed figures

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/GEOrocker/Unleashed.jpg

That's all for now, folks. :) I hope y'all enjoyed 'em. I'd put up my Hoth diorama and other miscellaneous pics, but I know for some people it takes a really long time for them all to load. I used to have dial-up, so I know how it is.  ::) If anyone wants to see them though I may put them up when/if we get to page 2. And if you're thinking I'm a tomboy (lol, I don't blame you), I'm actually the complete opposite. Perhaps as girlie girl as a girl can get.  :D

Thanks for looking!  :)

Very impressive Aayla!  I especially like the Anakin 501st setup, so menacing to all the young padawans.

Great set ups Aayla ;D

I like seeing when people take the time to set up a nice well organized display :)

It's very cool your parent have let you keep a room and turn it into Aayla's Star Wars Miniature Museum 8)
I bet they will stay well preserved just the way you want.

Now only if your walls were black with the Yellow intro lettering fading into the distance :D

I especially like the Cantina set up ;) I've been on an ANH kick lately with my Graflex conversions :D
So your ANH tribute was a welcome sight :)

I've got a black cabinet that my some of my Star Wars items are displayed in that  I want to add White Xmas
lights to the Back to give it that night sky look.

So needless to say seeing your set up reminds me I need to finish up mine...

Well, are they ever really finished though? :D

What a fantastic collection, Aayla.  :o
The Mos Eisley Cantina and Jabba's Palace scenes are especially well done, you must have spent a lot of time hunting out all the right figs to make the scenes complete.
These scenes are bustling with activity in the films, and you have really given an impression of that. Difficult to do with figures that are static.
They are interesting scenes too, because of the variety of different characters and species included.
And of course they are important moments in the SW saga.  ;)

The clone war diorama looks really cool too. You really have got an army of clones there.  8)

Love Yoda's idea about having the opening crawl on the walls. That would be something really special.  8)

Yes, please let's see the hoth diorama. I think anyone who is interested will be prepared to wait for the pics to load.  ;)

I fondly remember trying to recreate SW scenes with my Kenner figs as a child, but of course my efforts weren't as detailed or complete as these. I still got hours and hours of pleasure from it though.  :)

Agreed. I have always loved miniatures of any kind, so SW miniatures and dioramas are just totally cool, IMO.
I also like the patience required to be involved in small, fiddley work, and can see that Aayla's attention to detail has been a real labour of love.

Oustanding work.  ;)

wow! :o that is most impressive.

i dont know how many times ive wanted to do that, but i dont like to dust, and action figures tend to collect dust very easily ;)

:D I should get a little sound clip of the Figrin D'An and the Modal Nodes band and stick it in there somewhere.

Thank you... I also love seeing what other people can do with their figures and a little bit of imagination. :) I've seen some totally decked out dioramas where the collector builds an environment for their figures.  Some people take it up as a hobby and put a lot of time into it.

Thank you, TImmy-Wan. :) I love spending time and rearranging the figures. They're actually different right now than what you see in the pictures, I just haven't had a chance to take updated photos. Plus they're back home, which doesn't make it much easier. It's cool though to do it, as opposed to just keep them on a shelf. I try to place each figure as close to where he/she was in the movies as possible and when applicable. ;)

Thanks so much for the compliments, everyone. I'll put up Hoth when we get to page 2. It's actually an old little setup I assembled but is no longer standing. I have tons of Hoth figures and many that came out this year that I need to set up. My problem is that I don't have anywhere to put them, though.
