"Yoda, A History"
« on: February 16, 2009, 02:29:49 PM »
How hard would it be to do a live-action movie based on Yoda's past?  I think that a movie like this (done well) could be sweet.  Waddia think?

(sorry if this has been discussed b4) ::)

I hate to say it, but it would be hard to do. Very little is known about Yoda's past if IRC. We don't even know his species! If they made a movie, I'd gladly buy it and watch it.

In this day and age, ....they'd just screw it up. It is best left to our own imagination and interpretation.

The key words here are "done well".  I think It could be done with the right people doing it.  Who wouldn't like to see a 50-yaer-old Yoda rockin' out a light saber?

You would be (for the most part) on yuor own in his youth. there is very little info on him until he was a master. Een then there isn't a great deal before Episode 1. Read the link Alias gave, it's very informative.

It might be tough to cram Yoda's 900 year life-span into a two hour movie.  Maybe a 10-part Yodamentary or something.  :P

DANGIT Alias, I was gonna say that!  ;D

If I'm remembering right, I thought that Lucas was never going to expand on Yoda. Ever. Now, if that wer to ever change, I'm thinking it would be the hottest thing since the first one. You know, Episode IV,

I'm not sure about his whole life, but a CGI Yoda movie of his forming "good relations" with the wookiees would be quite cool. Anything more may ruin the mystery that is part of Yoda, as Darth_Call said.

I feel the same way about Sidious' master, Plagueis. I worry that if and when that book ever gets published, it might spoil some of Palpatines' mystery.

However, as you say Mike, if it's done well - it would rock! Is it worth the risk?

Yodamentary ;D To be honest, when I saw the thread title, I thought that it was about our Master Yoda, like a biography or something!

There is no way a 2 or even 3 hour movie could capture Yoda's youth... thats why it would be at least a trilogy! ;D
