Well done you kooky mad scientist space wizard.

Do the flame thrower with the lights off!!! I’ve seen it but others need to experience the gentlemanly way of clearing a crowd. :)

Another epic and imaginative creation!  Proof that sabers and props don't have to be just one dimensional. You really are an artisan with the fine details and angles used on the gentleman, as well as the technical achievements with the rotary encoder. Amazing work.
New to sabers, thought it would be cheap!

Oh wow this Saber is so awesome and totally unique! Only you could do this. Fantastic work on the hilt especially and also the setup/programming of the effects and modes.

There was a really cool looking weapon from one of the Star Wars visual guides with an almost Western looking blaster. If you’ve not seen it I’ll find the picture for you. I liked that but I think yours is so much classier and it’s a fully working prop. Hope to see it in person

I've never seen it, but it sounds interesting.  Thanks for the kind words.

I'm planning on making my flame saber font available soon, I'll give a more worthy video then!  My good camera doesn't shoot video, and my video capable cameras shoot garbage.. may be time for an upgrade.

That's just fantastic. Way to make use of a programmable platform to make something that behaves in a way that is truly unique.

Thanks! This was really supposed to be a quick and easy project, but ended up taking a bit of a life of it's own.  I really wanted to demonstrate this fact after some well known nay-sayers tried claimed Arduino based sabers aren't possible or worthwhile.

"Not possible?" LOL! I think we are a little past that now!

Oh man.
Ohhhhh man.
The Gentleman is glorious brother. I really love that Steampunk feel, always have. You have truly earned the right to be a mad scientist with this beautiful creation.

On a side note, there's a vape shop right near me that for some reason has a collection of Steampunk guns on the wall in there. Most are quite good. However they are all missing that mad scientist touch, and are static props.

Makes me think of the Gentleman though and how awesome it truly is. Well done sir.

Well past! Now we set the pace :)

But even I would not have thought that we can one day run a combined saber+blaster on a single Arduino board with still room left for more :) technology does not stay still and jbkuma is streching the limits to the extremes with neopixels, for all of our benefit!

That is a masterpiece my friend!  With this tech we are that much closer to bringing Ezra's "staple gun" saber to life! ;)
