I'm still on the list as undecided, and I still am.

It accure to me, that the glass eye, that I like so much, is a peace that's original on the Graflex flashgun.
I think, George replaced it for the red button in the ESB, so it was more differend from the flashgun, to make it look more like a lightsaber.
I thought of choosing the ESB, but with a glass eye instead of that red button.
Also because that glass eye appears in the ESB movie as well (a Jedi wrote that in here).
It would have been possible with the Ultra soundboard 2.0, because that one only use one switch.

I also thought of buying the collectors Kit, and place the ANH upper-hilt on the ESB bottom-part and see how it will look, but the differense is not only the glass eye but also the see-through will be missing.

Now I'm not so sure of my choice anymore.
So,... I'll let the CF4 option make my choice.

Exactly what I did DM.  I love teh glass eye better and since it was in ESB it is officially canon, as is no eye or no red button just an empty hole.  Go to partsofsw for more info on the different variations.  Not sure what you mean by "see through will be missing".

I sent Yoda a Pm about a week ago. Pming "ready to buy" status i havent got a reply back from him yet. I dont want to be rude or anything. He does sound like he is a busy guy making all those lightsabers. I wonder if he is going to reply anytime soon. I would love to get my hand on the graflex luke esb.

On top of the hilt above the rabbit ears you have a hole on the ESB, I thought the ANH saber doesn't have that.
I'm not so sure about that anymore.
I know the anakin didn't have that.

I thought all authentic Graflex's have that "hole" between the ears.  Isn't that where the blade retention screw is?  On an actual Graflex Camera flash, that was also the location of the mounting screw for the flash.

No the blade retention screw on Master Yoda's work is either the glass eye or the bottom button on the ESB.

Here is a link to a review of the Luke ESB vs ANH vs Anakin from Louis
http://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/index.php?topic=9172.0
And here, down this reply, you already have a picture from that review.
Louis, I hope you don't mind. Now we all are going to read your review again. ;)

I was a bit surpriced, to see that they both have that hole on top, only the ESB on a MR saber has two rectangle holes between the ears that the ANH is missing.

How is this on the Graflex?
Or is the only difference from the top hilt (seen from top to clamb) the glass eye and the red button?

Today I was in a moviestore and I saw a MR Luke ESB EL.
For 'only' €450,-- it's about $675,--
I had it in my hand for a while, and watched it.
Compared to the pictures I've seen, this EL is not as beautyfull as Yoda's detailed Graflex.
He puts all the details that's seen in the ESB movie, on this saber.
Yoda's Graflex ESB is better looking, but also a working one.

I admit I know nothing about the FX versions as I don't own an FX.  But as for the original ANH and ESB they both used a vintage graflex so they would be indentical on thegraflex shell.  Differences being glass eye vs red button, mylar tape, d ring bracket, and clamp bubbles or computer strip, number of grips and screws added to grips.  As for holes no holes etc they are both the same.

Hmmm,... okey, I think MR wanted to make the difference a bit bigger, between those two.
One thing I'm still interrested in is, the ESB has 6 grips, the ANH has 7.
Are the grips differend in thickness?
If not, and ANH has 7 of the same grips as the ESB, than the ANH-hilt feels bigger, holding it in your hand by that grip-part.

Well again I know nothing of the MR line so they could be thicker in hilt diameter.  But the original graflex will be the same with the mentioned 6 or seven grips.

Check out this site for great tips on the actual items used to make the props and the differences between the movie variations.

Ahhh, thank you.
Yes that's what I ment, the grips on the origenal Graflex.
Nice to know.
My choice will be clearer now.

When it's my turn on the list, I think Yoda is PMing me for what I exactly want, because I'm still on the list as undecided yet?

We didn't hear from Yoda for a long long time.
I think that when we will, he's coming with a BANG.
Graflexes,- Negotiators,- Ambasadors, we'll see.
But I miss him here, he was always around.
Let's hope he's alright.

Master Yoda is extremely busy right now with lots of irons in the fire.  He was instrumental in getting the US 2.0 up and running and with that coming out soon that will take a load off.  But he also has a huge list of graflex builds to do so I wouldn't expect much from him.  Everyone will get theirs in do time.  But if I were on the list I would rather he not be on the forum and working on sabers instead.  ;)  Kind of why he has all these mods.  His goal is to have the site run itself so he doesn't have to,  soooooo he can spend more time building his sabers.

From a graflex owner and the X owner of an MR Anakin, and played with a ANH in the store, I can tell you there is no comparison.  If you want to be a close the the real deal as you can, you can't beat a Yoda graflex.  IF you can afford it they are worth every penny and IMO a little bit more.

To me the graflex MR line feels like toys where the real graflex whether vintage shell or Park's replica feels perfect.  Let's face it.  That is what George built his out of so you can't get any closer.  In fact his was inferior as it had no sound or cool blade it was just an emtpy shell.  So ours are better than his...."from a certain point of view."  ;)

I have a Parks ANH replica that I'm trying to have Master Yoda upgrade to a CF w/Sound!  I can't wait!  Just waiting to hear back from him on prices and time out.

Yoda had one on Ebay last winter right before Christmas and it went for around $35-3800 as I recall.  Yes that is what it went for.  That is not a typo.

***EDIT***

Here's the link.  I was wrong it was $3900.  :o
