89 Sabers Yoda
« on: May 12, 2023, 10:36:45 AM »
Hello All,

I just purchased an 89 Sabers Yoda, and I haven't received it yet, it is still on the way. However, in doing some research and watching other reviews on other 89 Sabers lightsabers, I found that they put unprotected 18650's in their builds. Shame on me possibly for not knowing everything there is to know about lightsabers, but I'm still pretty nooby when it comes to this hobby. I dug a little more and found that Saberbay sells a flat top protected 18650 by Keeppower for a decent price, so I picked on of those up.

My question is this (and I already did some searching on here and couldn't find what I was looking for), anyone that owns any 89 Sabers, what is your experience? Am I being too paranoid about an unprotected batter? I just want to be safer and protect my investment. What is your experience with unprotected batteries? Any additional insight or info is welcomed that I may not be thinking of. Thank you in advance!
