Solved: Help with sk6812 led strip + cfx
« on: January 06, 2020, 03:14:38 AM »
I bought 2 led strips from amazon because TCSS was out of stock.
Item details: sk6812, RGBNW, 144 pixels/m, pcb IP30

I’m trying to get it to work with crystal focus 10 board.

Problem 1: 3/4 of the strip lights up. I can fix this by increasing the number of pixels to 166. The problem is there are only 124 pixels. I removed 20 for the blade install.

Problem 2: all colors light up- RGB&W. I cannot change the colors. I’m working with RICE and it is working.

Things I’ve tried:
1. I’ve double checked blade wiring and ground. All good.
2. I’ve tried an led strip blade from TCSS. It works fine.

3. I built a second LED strip blade with 2 new strips (same model strips). Same problem.

4. I’ve been playing with LS timings... no luck but I don’t know what I’m doing there either. I figured it has something to do with this though because my TCSS blade works perfect.

Thanks in advance for help!!

change your color space to 4 in the timings since it's RGBW. Also, timings changed twice of units (now in SI units) over the past 2 fw revisions, so check the changelog based on what version you have installed or what the board came with.

Thanks. Changing color space to 4 solved everything.
