Very nice indeed. Looking forward to seeing what you've done with the interchangeable neck pieces. Cool idea.  I'm still scratching my head about how to securely mount a DIN connector in my blade...
I notice that the blade is static in the videos i've seen so far. Do you have the option of a pulse effect?

Yes, it's got a pulse, but it flickers pretty fast, so the camera might not be picking it up.  It's adjustable in the config file.

Looks really good Sloth!  You're certainly setting the bar pretty high for high-end replicas.  ;)

Thanks much!  I should probably start designing a custom or something...

I am very happy with how the non bladed grenade ended up oxidized and weathered. Had to machine and tap a hole for the retainer screw that exactly matched the position of the bladed grenade. That was not impossible, but wasn't something I could mess up. Also the depth and position of the notch for the chamber latch was machined within a thousandth or two of the original.

A problem I have run into is that these grenades and windvanes were from different runs at different times. They are "almost" the same dimensions, but not quite, and I've had to compensate a bit for that. Next up, oxidizing and weathering the brass windvane, fan and fan shroud.

oh so cool!

Thanks!

And thank you all for bearing with me during this very long and arduous build.  I am sure you're all probably tired of hearing about this saber, but it's not quite finished yet...

Welp, sorry for the cellphone pics, but I thought I'd let you all know the last giant hurdle has been ... um.. hurdled.

Last night, I finished machining, weathering and assembling the non bladed grenade/emitter section.  That also meant I had to tear down and rebuild my latch, as I needed to install a brass bushing around the clamp lever bolt to take the forward/backward slack out of the reveal latch.  I also shaved the back of my reveal latch down to just a little nub you can catch with your finger, hardly noticable.

I also almost gave up on this, but I had machined a polycarbonate lighting element to go down in the bottom of the "cone" piece that attaches the emitter to the brass windvane. I had some alignment issues making sure that the chamber top plugged into both bladed and non bladed sections, the bladed one worked flawlessly, but the non bladed one was slightly off.  A few hours of tinkering and it finally worked.

Left to do: Shave a couple thousandths off my reveal latch hook and make a custom transistor kill key.

Wow.  That's two things left to do.

Such a pleasure to see this develop. Absolutely beautiful. Lots of respect and admiration to you for this. Gives that 'Wow!'-and-grin effect of first seeing lightsabers/then first seeing replica lightsabers all over again, even with my fairly fussy and jaded eye ;)

Well that's the icing firmly on the cake. I'm not usually so bothered about screen accuracy in a saber. If it looks good well... then it is good, but level of attention to detail has to be admired.

I THINK IT IS FINISHED!!!!!!!

Holy cow... I really think it is done!

I really can't think of anything else to do to it.

I'll take some good pics tomorrow with the good light through my office window, and call it finished.

100% pure Awesomesauce!

I am suitably awed. BRAVO!
To DREAM the IMPOSSIBLE DREAM. To FIGHT the unbeatable foe. To BEAR with unbearable sorrow. To RUN where the brave dare not go. To RIGHT the unrightable wrong. To LOVE, PURE AND CHASTE, FROM AFAR [-sigh-]. To TRY, when your arms are too weary; to REACH the unreachable Star!... This is my Quest; To follow that Star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far...
