are post images of your crystal chambers?

Hi Gabywan, yes here are two threads with pictures of our sabers that have crystal chambers.  These were done with quartz crystals and colored LEDs.  The first one is still for sale on Ebay.  ::Shameless plug::  What do you think?

I have a News my friends.;D

I design de primary Crystal mount, then with the dimensions use a Lathe on a cylinder of aluminum and these were the results:

To realize the Diatum power cell, I used pieces of pipes of aluminum, which I bevelled in his ends.

The energy gate, I will try to do her with acrylicos blue, like it appears in  visual encyclopedia star wars. ;D

I obtained translucent quartz crystal  :o, this I will use them to realize the primary crystal, the focusing crystal activator and the focusing crystal.

the pieces

and now .... to give him form to all this!!!!  ??? ??? ???

Hello Gabywan, it is actually better not to polish them.  The roughness is what allows them to capture and retain the light  ;D  When you polish them, they are nowhere near as bright.  That is why I prefer the natural crystals.  Manmade ones, like swarovski crystals, are very dim in comparison to the natural quartz  :)

We use a green grinding stone that comes with the dremel.  It takes some time, but it does work and doesn't crack or damage the crystal (so far, knock on wood).  Careful, they get hot :) .

Great job so far Gabywan.  I love the brass rods you are using.  As they tarnish you will get a nice used look to them.

Tapping is not all that hard if you are careful and take your time.  Aluke has a tutorial thread here devoted to tapping.  I am not sure how thick the walls are on your brass rod.  If they are too thin that might give you a problem when tapping.  I had a hard time finding rods with thick enough walls to be able to withstand adding the threads to them.

Hi Luke,
I would like to know the link of aluke where it treats on the Tapping,I cannot find it. ???
Thank you very much.

The laptop came out very clear... (just kidding)

That is awesome that you are doing all this yourself. Take your time and I'm sure you will be happy with the results.

Hi Jedi!!!..thanks for your words. :D
I like working with the hands, this is an advantage.
nevertheless every part takes enough time. :-\
