They both look great, yes the Obi Wan has the fat neck but we all new it would. A 7 1/2 ft double bladed FX you bet your xxx I'm getting it, at this point i really don't care about the minor details i just want it in my hands. Roll on 2006 its going to be a good year for collectors  ;D.

In respect to durability all three of my saber including the Luke have survived dueling and hitting things with some force but not like a baseball swing.  If the new sabers coming out are better than we have alot to look forward in 2006

And not to forget that there is high chance that they would be brighter than the 2005 fx line

Yeah brighter would be good but I am looking for a cleaner blade no dark spots no lines running up the blade or seeing any of the LED circles in the blade

we will just have to wait till the maul fx saber comes out nd then maybe we will know what we will be expecting from the obi want

Well, when I got the Vader ESB I was so impressed by the technology that went into it, then I hear about the Anakin ROTS I get that saber and that impresses me more, then comes the Luke ROTJ a green LED saber, green, I must say that with saber I come into each one had its pro and cons but each was special to me in a way that the other saber couldnt compete with.  I think the next sabers coming will once again show that the Fx sabers from MR will prove that they are the best lightsaber replica out there even better than Parks which are to much to begin with

Well If they have done the Obiwan from EP3 and the Maul from EP1
then there is no reason not to do the Obiwan and Quigon from EP1 ;)

Yoda, Sidious, and Dooku should be a special release like the Luke ROTJ ::) ;)

That would keep at least the next few years busy? :D

Judging by the pictures i like the  maul a lot better than the obi wan. It doesnt even seem like the maul hilt is oversized because of its natural thickness.All the details look great on darth mauls except that the power bottons dont line up evenly. Not a big deal assuming masterreplicas wil probably fix this problem.The only thing that seems to be different is the "coupler" has holes in it in order to hear the sounds.This will be a heck of a loud saber considering you are actually doubling the volume ;D

As for the obi wan I think they should have made a PTM version.The hilt is a lot nicer and you wont have to deal with that fat neck problem.

Ok, I don't know how they make the polycarbonate LED blades, but I was thinking... What if they made something like this:
 


something like a one piece polycarb blade that is molded (or however they make it) thinner at the base so it can fit through a thin neck.  Since the material of the polycarbonate would still be the same thickness it should still be almost, if not just as, sturdy as the 1" portion.

... I dunno, just an idea.

Actually that looks a lot like the miniplug end of an EL, except that the tapering part is exposed and therefore not nearly as secure as on the EL.  I really think that at this point it is about how big the blade is, and keeping it secure, much as Steve from MR has said.
