Your Luke ROTJ has been here for some time, but I am working on that. I think an MR hilt is not fitting for you, so you are getting a full blown custom made Luke V2. Don't argue.... ::) :D
Seriously, DT, the most important thing is keeping yourself healthy. don't go crazy getting these out. we've waited this long, and knowing they are on your bench or in queue is a huge step forward. i'll keep checking that list, waiting for my name to pop up. in the meantime, i'll be happy knowing they are in good hands, and the world moves on.I echo Reaver's sentiment... That is part of the problem right there. Every time someone talks to him, whether it be Jango, myself, or the mods over at ORA, we are all given different excuses which all contradict each other. You may be willing to put down your pitchfork but I am tired of empty promises and excuses. The fact that he has all these Overlords that are supposed to be done, people's soundboards, and countless Ultra sabers that have yet to be repaired and is not contacting any of the owners or returning emails or PM's, especially to those who have lent him money to help out is highly suspicious in my eyes.

Ultra is aware of the situation, as I called him this evening. He knows all that I have stated here. And about the postings on the Overlord topic. We discussed some "What if" plans, that may have to be implemented, if DT ...fails.
Ultrasabers will take care of you. We always have, even if you don't get an official announcement out of it.
We are currently in the middle of the forest, albeit a very epically deep forest. We will emerge on the other side. Then this all will simply be a lesson learned for the next saber.
We heard from Derek just last week and he said he's building the sabers and shipping them out.

You can count on me to make things right just like you always have. If I need to, I will drop everything and make an entire new run of Overlords just for you. If you don't want one anymore, I'll refund your money. Simple as that.

Let's face it, folks, these sabers are most likely never going to see the hands of any of us who ordered them. DT holds all the cards here, and I think he's done dealing with any of us, on any level. Whether he still has them is something I highly question, and with the constant false promises of shipping, refusal to send even unassembled parts to their owners, at no cost to him, I doubt that even if he DOES have them, that he plans on shipping them to any of us. I've given up hoping to get mine.
It sucks that we're all out our sabers and our money. It sucks that Ultra is out all of his. It sucks that someone we all trusted and admired has decided to shaft us. Mostly, it sucks how badly this has tainted the entire custom saber community. Lessons learned.
Your best bet is to wait for Alex.I'd think that, in literally some cases (bane), years would be enough time for things to "get sorted". Nothing personal against UltraSabers LLC, but timeliness is something that's been hit or miss for them. Look at the last 2 or 3 saber runs. Look at almost every Ultrasound release. Me personally, I'm about 50/50. Sometimes things go wormhole, sometimes not. Now, I'm not doubting Ultrasabers commitment on making things right, or their great customer service, or specifically Ultra's word. That's been proven gold over and over again, but you better set aside some serious patience for the wait. I know like everything else in life things hicuup and things don't go smoothly according to plan, but months and months and months? Really? ???

FYI there is already another run on the Ultrasound. If we go the replacement route the OV will get 2.2's
Several Sabersmiths including myself, have offered to donate their time to completing the installs on the OV. This includes a redo of the third run.

I have brought another machinist on board and I will now be able to complete this project before Halloween.
All the parts for the OverLord are now in stock. They will be assembled and shipped out soon, except the ones waiting on sound boards.
We're basically trying to get all the non sound OverLords out before Halloween. When the Ultrasounds release, I will be installing the ones into Overlords for those that want it in there and have paid for it.
There is so much negativety here going on, that it is not funny anymore.

I would think Ultra would go. His company, his responsibility, and Ultimately, DT was working for him. He would be the logical choice. As for costs and such, again, his company. But I'd throw 20 bucks into a pot for an Overlord Recovery Mission. And if half of us did that, it would pay for the trip. We shouldn't have to, mind you, but I would. I know you have offered to help build, and if that still stands, seems like half can go to you, and half can go back to US for assembly.

In case you guys have not realized it yet, I don't like to post stuff like this without the details all in place.
Dimensions and weight for a package were sent to Ultra earlier this week, but were somehow lost ??? ???
They were resent today, and I have received a copy of the label and a click&ship notification.
When the package arrives, it will be sorted and a list will be posted in ORA of the builds received.
Owners of those builds with sound will be given an opportunity to decide if they want their hilts built by me or to have them shipped as is ASAP. This is to provide DIYs that have advanced their skills an opportunity to build their own or if someone does not want me to build their saber the option of sending it to another sabersmith.
Stunts will be sent to Ultrasabers for assembly and shipment. Or they can be sent AS IS on to you.
I will not be receiving blades in THIS SHIPMENT.

It's alright Derek. I've stated to more than one mod about how much a one-sided flame war this thread has become, that was supposed to be "positive informational/communication". I brought a couple of them to task about how it seems ok to let some people lambast an individual, but if someone speaks up in defense of something, they get PMed with warnings.
Or I get a warning for accidentally sliding by the swear filter, but it's ok for the person in the above post to get away with the inuendo about Amber and the Mosey Inn (on supposedly a family-friendly site and why I was warned about the sliding around the chat filter.)
Just a couple quick comments from me, as we're waiting to see how this all pans out...
First, this was never meant to be the start of a flame war towards anyone. It's a little tough to say anything that doesn't sound like that in a situation such as this, as everything is individual. I can't say ORA screwed up, without it sounding like a direct attack at DT. I can't say anything about about US without it sounding like a direct attack at Alex. And never was it my intention to attack an individual personally. Not in a flaming, uncalled for way, at least. For those who saw it that way, just know it wasn't my intention, and accept my apology.
Second, that being said, I don't regret any of my statements as far as what I said. How I phrased it, maybe, but not the statements themselves. Everything was said based on a pattern (see Shadeslinger's posts on what pattern I'm referring to. He lays them out far more humorously than I) and a history of events. I still think this has drawn out far too long, and I still think trust and faith is misplaced in many cases. But I do understand a bit better why certain things have gone on as long as they have, and all I can say is a little more communication would have gone a long way towards keeping this pot from the boiling point it has reached on occasion.
This is the flaw inherent in a board and community such as this. We're all friends and fellow fans (and smiths, in some cases), right up until we pay someone someone for their services. Then we become business associates, not friends. Until it's done, and the goods are delivered, but even then the friendship has been altered toward the business side. If you ask me for help installing a board, and I say "sure, send it over and I'll do it for you, no cost." Well, that's just one guy doing another guy a solid. Which is cool, and there are usually no ramifications. But the minute I ask for money, even if it is $.50, you become my client, my customer, and I have an obligation to get you what you want in a timely fashion. That's what happened here. I don't care if someone only paid five cents, or if they (like myself) are into this project for nearly a grand at this point, we all have the same rights. and we have been delayed, deceived and misled time after time. Many of us have asked for our sabers, offering to pay for shipping again, to get them to us, and we'd get them assembled elsewhere. We're usually met with silence or hostility. We have been extremely patient. We have been extremely understanding. I applaud the amount of restraint and patience I've seen here (not always applicable to myself, unfortunately). But I think we're all to the enough is enough stage. I'm hoping this is really getting worked out. I really am. But part of me is kicking and screaming, unwilling to believe they are even at the post office at this point. Because we've all heard it before. And we're not ready to wait months again, hoping for good news that rarely comes....
To all you folks at Ultrasabers, I have enough of your product to know you do great work. And I've had issues that have been worked out smoothly, so I know you care about customer service. I admire that you've taken a fun hobby and turned it into a business, catering to the geekiness inside us. I apologize to you if you feel I was attacking you. I'm hoping that this gets worked out for your sake, as well as all of ours.
To the mods I've talked to about this situation on this board, thank you for your patience, honesty and communication, even when you often know as much as the rest of us. Which is to say, not much. You're mods for a reason, and you do your jobs well.
To the rest of us, I'm hoping against hope that we all come out of this with our sabers. I feel like, should we all get them, we should get together and throw a huge party.

I think I misread this originally. I thought it meant that they were complete already, and you would distribute them. Which of course made me wonder why switches and such were coming in a second shipment (I still wonder that, just for a different reason), but now I realize it meant that meant they would be distributed as Jango completes them. Makes a bit more sense now...
