Fun with lightsaber, short vid
« on: May 25, 2011, 08:49:39 AM »
Hi,

we were playing with our band on a small medieval fair last weekend.

After our last gig, some people wanted to see my lightsabers, because they didn´t believe you can fight with them.
The moment I switched on the saber, a small boy, who was near to fall asleep in his mother arms, returned instantly to wide-awakeness and shouted "A lightsaber, a real lightsaber."

I had no other chance then letting him play with it  :D
A workmate caught this with his cam:

Great moment, this has been ;D

That's cute.  Kids love lightsabers!

You have to watch out with them though.  My son likes to swing for my knuckles rather than my blade.

Mine like to swing for the fences....and groins.
Don't let my post count fool you. I've built more sabers than that count #.

Very nice, and cute. Yes, kids do seem to like to go for the hands and the groin, but maybe because it is closer to their level/height.  :-\ Still fun though.

Thx for your replies,

it seems Clone Wars will guarantee the next generation of SW fans for the next years.

I´ve been dressed as Obi-Wan Kenobi on a SW day in a small themepark this weekend.
Hundreds of kids have been there.
It was awesome to see, how happy or excited they all were.

Astonishingly some of them had costumes from episode 4-6  8)

@ Skottsaber
The sabers are my custom with PC-L lightmeat and a converted 2010 FX Obi-Wan with removable blade.
The sounds of the new Obi are really nice, very loud and clear.
