They should call it a SITH CLAYMORE.

I think that sounds kind of cool.

The problem is anyone could have built a cross saber, but until we see close up details of the one in the Trailer we will not know if it looks anything like the saber.  Even with high res screen shots you just cannot tell much.  So, can someone do a cross saber, sure.  When the movie comes out will it be at all accurate, nope.

Thanks to some really high-res trailer stills, we do have a good idea of how it looks. Not every detail, but the general shape is pretty consistent across the lightsaber makers, including Makoto. The one above was a prototype of the mechanics, and not the design. He actually did a design prototype a few weeks ago.

Im sorry but I really do not like the cross hilt saber, I mean the working one looks sweet, but I think the design looks dumb...we call that being bit by the good idea fairy in the Military.

Nothing to be sorry about, I don't like it one bit either. Unless those "guard emitters" are made of cortosis, another lightsaber blade can still cut into it, and even if it can't, all it would take would be a swift change in direction after hitting the guard and you could still cut the top half of the lightsaber off under the main emitter.

In fact, I'll say that the guard there would make the cut a bit easier once it's stopped the opposing blade, because then all one would have to do from there is make a quick side cut and game over.

We are all looking at the stars, we are Homo-sapiens-Stellaris.
when I see other's sabers I might think they have build them like a Tardis, bigger inside than oustide. Unlike mines huhu.

I find it interesting that the validity of the "crossguard" saber, almost without fail, comes down to its defensive capabilities. Here's a link to a video by a sword play expert that I subscribe to on YouTube, and what he says makes sense; especially if we are talking about a Sith and their brutally efficient saber forms. Enjoy!

I have no idea why this is still in question, but that's a great video, thanks!
