Don't they warp like a mother?  You don't have to heat up polycarb blades with a hairdryer and bend them back into shape.

They don't warp like a mother, brother, uncle or 3rd cousin on your dad's side twice removed.   ;)   Not sure where you heard that, but not in my personal experience.

Of course, what do I know? I have been accused of "breaking necks" on MHS pieces.  :D

In all seriousness though, I have never heard NOR experienced that.

Huh... i have to find where i heard that now.  Might have been a youtube vid now that i think about it.  Didn't just dream up the hairdyer.  Heard it somewhere.

maybe you were thinking of Acrylic blades?  those I have  bent and needed to straighten them

I've had two nylon blades that I bought from Xwing several years ago. They're 1" OD thin walled. I've fought with them and have never had any issues. They haven't yellowed at all, either.

Nylon stock is very durable.  It can come from the supplier warped.  You can heat it to straiten it up.  Them's the facts from the person who has made and sold more 7/8" blades than anyone on planet Earth.

Ah, so it arrives warped, doesn't warp from dueling.  thanks for the info.

I'm excited to see that TCSS is carrying this size blade stock.  It's perfect for thin neck sabers.  In my experience I've never had any problem with Nylon blades.  As GG said, when purchasing them they may arrive warped, but I personally have never had any issues with Nylon cracking, bending excessively, yellowing, or warping when dueling with them.  In fact, two of the reasons I prefer them is for the way the light is diffused through them, giving them a soft hazy glow when diffusion film is added (ala X-Wingband style blades), and two, they don't scuff on the surface the way polycarbonate has a tendency to do once hit over and over during fighting.
