Post by: SirRawThunderMan on April 04, 2020, 10:57:04 AM
I got bored on lockdown, so I decided to get this off my to-do list:

SirRawThunderMan's FX-SaberOS Setup Tutorial

Coverings things such as:  What is FX-SaberOS, How to get it, and how to set it up. I also covered some advanced FX-SOS options.

Enjoy!

Very good video. Also, thanks for the S.T.R.E.A.M. shout-out.

A few notes and clarifications:
6:40 You can tell what baud rate is being used by finding the Serial.begin() call in the sketch. Usually it will be in the setup() function. No need for trial-and-error.
7:31 Double-clicking to open a sketch pre-supposes you have the file associations set up in your operating system. If you don't, then manually copy the code to your projects folder (example: C:\Users\MyUserName\Documents\Arduino\projects\FX-SaberOS) then use File->Open from the Arduino IDE.
21:50 For best results, set the power on/off times to the exact amount of time the power-up sound takes to play. In the case of playing a converted-from-Plecter font, this is easy to tell by looking at the file properties of the corresponding sounds before they are converted by the sound font converter utility.
