Old topic, but plenty of reason for a resurrection. Almost a month ago now, my grandfather asked me to find another stormtrooper, thinking that they would look cool on each side of Darth Vader. Knowing that they wouldn't (two in that pose just wouldn't work), I set out to find out what else was made by the Don Post company. I found that they made a Boba Fett, C-3PO, and R2-D2. As luck would have it, I was able to find a Boba Fett. So, it arrived on friday just as I was leaving for my weekly trip to Lake Erie, and I unboxed it and arranged the figures this morning. Just finished an hour ago.
A little more background on the figures. The vader was made by Rubies in 1996, and the Stormtrooper by Don post in 1997 (though both were produced the same year, they have different years listed on the COAs). The reason for two separate manufacturers was that neither had the ability to manufacture both figures simultaneously. There were 500 Darth Vader's made, 500 Stormtroopers, and less than 200 Boba Fetts (wish I had an exact number). Don post had their license revoked halfway through production of the C-3PO's and I'm assuming that was also during the Boba Fett production run. There were only 89 C-3POs produced, and we're trying to locate one now for the collection. If anyone has any leads (long shot, I know, but I'm trying everything I can think of) please speak up.
Anyway, enough with the chat, here's the Pics.
they really are lazy with the weapons on these statues. just look at the crooked scope
working chest display
also "working" rangefinder
each pocket has a different greeblie inside. Also, it would seem that velcro was actually invented a long time ago in a galaxy far far away.
the right one here is the twist switch for the chest display
and here's me with them for scale. I'm just about the perfect size to fit either a boba fett or stormtrooper costume once I'm in the boots. Don't be fooled by their height, they just are on 4" pedestals and have helmets on.
Anyway, that's all for now, but I should have an update again sooner rather than later. Plus, I should really update this thread with my recent sabers and other props when I get some time for it.
Thanks for looking!
