NB3 no sound
« on: September 17, 2017, 09:05:47 AM »
I went to turn on my Inception (shelf queen) and I have no sound. This saber has never been dueled or dropped and no issues with sound till now. I hooked up an external amplifier and can just barely hear sound and all othe saber functions are normal. I have many sabers with similar setups and have never had this issue.  Any ideas on a fix would be welcomed.

Mods please move this thread if I put it in the wrong place.

I had that problem once and my sabers are also only shelf queens. Turned out to just be a speaker that decided to take a crap one random day unbeknownst to me so I swapped it out and works fine still. That's an easy test and fix if you have a spare speaker.

where did you hook up an external amplifier ? Also, what charger do you use ? with or without a recharge port ?

The speaker is indeed the first thing to test

I tried a different known good speaker and no difference. I hooked up a sparkfun mono amp to the speaker terminals. I use a TCSS smart charger. As for the Sparkfun amp, I revived a CF 5 that had no sound with one so I thought I'd try it.

is it the charger that automatically find the voltage of the battery pack or the one with a cell number /voltage selector ?

The one you have to select the voltage. I have never hooked this board to anything but the 3.7v setting

I use this TCSS smart charger :
