Post by: cordaroyfog on November 27, 2018, 12:28:48 PM
Hey guys, been a while but I wasn't sure if this was posted elsewhere.

Looks like the remade Obi TPM, Maul, and Windu ROTS Hasbro versions will be released on 1/15/19.

I hope the Windu is as easy to convert as the 2007 Hasbro version!

i fear these will be the ones with the non-removable  blades.  many years ago they made versions with removable blades, but the last few years have seen re-releases with fixed blades.  only the disney parks versions of kylo, vader, and rey have the removable blades.  i hope i am wrong about these new releases.  i would love to get a pair of darth maul sabers with removable blades.

Title: OBI TPM BLACK SERIES: UPDATE
Post by: cordaroyfog on February 04, 2019, 09:40:07 AM
So UPDATE:

I picked up one of the Obi TPMs from Gamestop for $150+tax.

A few notes. It looks great, just like the old one does.

It is lighter which is cool, but the blade end is so heavy the thing has terrible balance.

Mine had a few globs of glue around the base of the blade on the emitter, pretty sloppy.

The sound was kinda rough and crunchy and I don't know if it's just a bad module or that's how it is.

The point is the QC seems WAY down, and I will be returning it.

Still a great deal if you want an OBI TPM more than anything for a great price.
