Okay, one day I was strolling around at Best Buy and I saw FFX sabers for the first time. Christmas was coming up, and I really didnt think of them as anything important. Thay had a Vader on display, I went over and held it. It was much more realistic than those plastic lightsabers which I had been using, and well, they are nothing compared to the FX saber. Well, I knew it turned on, but of course as a newbie to FFX sabers, I didn't know how to turn it on. I was standing there for about a minute trying to figure it out. I didn't want to look like an idiot, so I set it back, and went to look at PS2 games. Every 3 seconds I could here it being turned on and off. I got so mad! As you know, the people at Best Buy are like the nicest people in the whole world, every time you walk in or out, they are like "HI, or Bye", and if you are having trouble looking for something, they will spend like an hour with you. Now why didnt they help me with an FFX? Oh well... after my adventure at Best Buy, I went home and did a little research, I saw all the vids and pics. They were so cool. I knew that my dad would never let me get one. But I bugged him about it. I was obsessed with getting it. I bugged him about every day.
December 25: I ran downstairs on Christmas morning. Like I thought, I didnt get it...or did I? We were cleaning up, and my dad brought in the box covered in wrapping paper. I opened it so happy. I looked inside, and all i say was my plastic lightsaber, an Anakin AOTC. I almost fainted with surprise. Then my dad brought it in. I got my 3 AA batteries and put them in. I turned it on, and my whole family was amazed. Lets go through my FFX experiences. ( I get an Anakin ROTS FX for Christmas...I get a Vader ESB FX 1 day later...My Anakin has 2 blinking LED's in it...I get a new one...My Vader ESB gets a dead LED...I get my money back...I get Luke ROTJ...this is what it is todaay if your confused. Anakin ROTS, and Luke ROTJ.)

Get the Vader ESB its probably the best made saber yet

I would man, but I really don't want to go over 2, because what are you going to do with 6 sabers in years to come? Plus I already had the experience of a Vader ESB saber. It wasn't the best, but it was pretty cool.

Ya I think my favourite is the Luke ESB. Nice story by the way haha. I like the part were you didn't wanna look like an idiot so you walked away and could hear it turned on and off. haha I did that with the Luke ROTJ when I saw it. Well I spent like a minute trying to figure it out and there was a couple right beside me with an Anakin and they were turning it on and off. I didn't want to look like an idiot so I put down the Luke ROTJ and the couple left so I picked up the Anakin which I could turn on. haha After playing with that for a while I figured out how to turn on the Luke ROTJ, and like a week later my Luke ROTJ comes in the mail. I was mad also that I ordered it and it took forever and then I find out bestbuy is now going to sell them. I thought **** haha. Ya I like the Vader ESB. I want it to be my next saber but I have no money. How about everyone here at FX give me at least a dollar. haha If 120 members do that then I get my Vader ESB. haha Ya I want my collection to be at least Luke ROTJ, Luke ESB, Vader ESB, Full Maul TPM by the end of this year.

When I got my Luke ESB I was a bit like that, I had seen so many pics but still hadn't realised you had to slide the button :D.

I think it is the best watching people trying to figure out how to turn it on. Like at Best Buy I'll be browsing movies and I'll here some kid with their mom or dad saying "crap, how do you turn this on?" "press the..no...here.." "No that is wrong also!" hahaha Or when you show your FX's to people who have never held them before. And they press down on the buttons hahaha.

Thats what I was doing with my Luke ESB, pressing the button down, then my finger slipped down and slid the button on :D.
Nothing like holding an FX for the first time............. ;)

Haha, I was at Best Buy, and this 5 year old kid comes over with his mom, and he is like, "this must be the new plastic lightsaber everyone is talking about. I know everything about Starwars lightsabers. Hey mom, watch this", and he swings it around like a banshee, and he is like, I practice form zero. Then he drops it, and starts crying. I couldnt stop laughing!

hahaha Ya I am with ya on that. I really need the Vader ESB to complete my dream collection. To have all the colors from the OT. I got green, luke rotj, blue, luke esb, and now I need red, Vader ESB. I would get ANH but I need ESb to complete my esb collection. hahaha Very complicated you know! haha

I'm currently awaiting the arrival of my new Ani ROTS, so that I will complete the 3 main colors (only Windu has a violet saber in the movies as far as I know), and I guess I'll be happy with that =) . And I always liked Ani saber a lot, as it's a great character and also the saber that Luke receives in Ep. IV!! (Well a little bit different in the movie but not much really)
Missing a blue saber was unbearable once I got green+red!

Ya Mace is the only one in the movies who has purple. It is weird because EU wise Mace had a blue saber before purple. Ki-Adi has had a green saber, then purple, and then blue. Plo Koon had a yellow saber and some jedi actually had red sabers. I don't think red was labelled sith until later because in jedi power battles adi galli or how every you spell her name has a red lightsaber. I think GL wanted the main colors to be red, green, and blue. I at least need these colors, I can do without Mace's Blue with red Filter saber haha.

Ya in the EU comics and stuff some have red sabers and nothing is ever said. But like all EU it isn't official right? But even the EU story strayed in this because jedi have never put a red crystal in there saber, I think if they redid the comics they wouldn't have red sabers. haha

My understanding is that Adi Galia's lightsaber was crimson and not red. Pretty much the same thing, though. ;)
Anyhow that's a pretty funny story. When I first held the Mace ROTS at GameStop I had no idea how to turn it on... something that'd never happened to me with an FFX. Then this six year old looked at me and told me I had to push the gold button in the middle up. :D

Ya the official power battles site says crimson but still we all know it is just the fancy way of saying red. haha

I always wondered why the sith are so boring always using red sabers... poor people. I bet many Jedi didn't turn to the dark side just to be able to continue wielding different saber colors xDD

as far as the movies are concerned, the explanation is a lot more.. simple.
its all to do with the color of the laser bolts.
the laser bolts had to be red in the first films because it gave the best contrast and allowed the viewer to 'track' the shot on screen.
there was a concern that green or blue laser bolts would be lost against the background of each shot.
(thats why we only saw "green" laser bolts, in space, coming from the TIE fighters back in 1977. in space, the background is always black.heh)
the decision was made early, to make all the handgun lasers "Red".
----> in phantom menace george wanted the Jedis to "stand out" on screen --> the color of the lightsaber is meant to contrast the "blaster-fire".
(so it "looks cool" when the shots are deflected)
^^ thats the (only?) reason that the Jedi swords were limited to green and blue. heh.

But I still would've went a different way, Yellow. ;) I am currently writing the scripts for my fan-film trilogy and the main jedi colors are green, blue, and yellow in mine. I am basing mine on the KOTOR way that green means you study the force more, blue you study lightsaber techniques more, and yellow being balanced. It takes place 1,000 years after ROTJ. The council only consists of 3 wise elders and they all have different colors, one has blue, one has yellow, and one has green. But ya I notice when I make lightsaber effects the green stands out the best, it is the brightest and by far the best lightsaber effect I can make. I mean GL seem to perfect blue in ROTS better then the other colors.

Hey guys, I just came back from Best Buy, and they had an Anakin on display. I think the one on display belongs to the only box left. I didnt check to see if it had one in it. I picked it up, and it was like a fingerprint massacre. Oh yeah, you know how I said i couldnt figure out how to turn Vader's on? Well, the Anakin still had the stickers on it. I was so mad...everyone was turning it on and off like crazy. I wasn't really concentrating on it though. I was actually looking for 007: Everything or Nothing...it's the best game ever. I wanted to buy it even though I already beat it.

Ya if you want a good James Bond game I suggest N64's 007:Goldeneye. On nintendo.com it was in a poll which is the best james bond game and it won with like 64% and the runner up with like 15%. If you haven't played it I suggest if you get revolution to download it. Me and my dad still play it. ;)

In the game Jedi Starfighter Adi Gallia had a blue LS. However none of these are completely canon.
There is one canon source of a Jedi with a red LS. 12 and a half minutes into Clone Wars part2 you see a jedi with a red saber. These are sourced as being 100% canon so there we have it.

Thanks man. I plan on starting when snow melts and spring comes, if I am ready, I have to order saber props, make costumes, etc. I will make my first one and start my second one at the beginning of fall because I then have my next part in EP 2 in Hoth which will require winter and snow. Then by the time I get to my third, well I will be able to before this but still, I'll be able to drive, so me and my friends are going to drive down to drumheller, dunno if any of you have heard of it, and do some of it there for tatooine. Anyways I hope all of this is goes accordingly. But ya when I finish some, or 1, I have written the first movie to end in a way were if I don't make the next 2 it isn't a problem. I will show you guys them, I want to buy a nice HD Camera for 2,100 from best buy, but I have no money. So I will just use the camera I have now which is still pretty good, just not HD haha.

Ya I may be 15 but I love to make indy movies. I have been making short skits with my friends for over a year now. We mostly do comedies hahaha also we film alot of our skateboarding we do, except most of my friends quit skating so only a few now. I have figured out alot of ways to make star wars feats. I only have short videos of lightsaber effects. I actually want to try and work for Lucas Film. I mean I think I could do it, I want to do something with media though. I want to live in hollywood and either be a director, actor, editor, designer (not clothes haha but like the posters and stuff) or something.

As for Lucasfilm, I'm not too sure what it's going to do with itself now that GL has indicated he is getting a little tired.

Well I am sure he will pass it on to somebody else like Rick Mcculam or w/e. Ya I know, I don't have a job so it is hard, I am ordering my sabers from www.randomsabers.com or at least want to, at least to make it look good. Some only cost 50 which isn't too bad. But I am going to either get my mom or my nonna to help me work on my jedi costume.

I want to work for Lucasfilm also. Special Effects and animation is so cool. I would want to be an actor but I can't see myself making it in that buisness. But maybe a writer or director. I don't know I'm still only 15, so I've got a long way to go. I love making movies with my video camera. Over the summer I had a tape full of hilarious stuff. But some of it was alittle inapproprite so it had to be disposed of, but it was pretty funny. But most of it was all improvised so it was kind of crazy. One film we made was Spatula. It was a spoof of Saw and it was pretty hilarous. This summer we will be going into production of Spatula 2 and a spoof of the show Laguna Beach, called Evergeen Beach. Evergreen is the neighborhood I live in but there is no beach so we are going to use a nearby pond instead.

Sweet DS I am 15 also and I make movies with my friends. Most of it is comedy and would be rated PG-13 hahaha. But some are probably 18-A hahaaha.

Love the story! I got my Anakin ROTS for christmas as well, though in Denmark, we get presents and stuff on Christmas Eve ;D I remember the first time standing with it in my hand. I didn't know how to turn it on :P I stood there pushing the ignition switch inwards and pushing it down, but suddenly it turned on! That was a great feeling 8)

i would not say that its the best made saber yet. The hilt is, but there r 2 many little things that get in your way. it is not great for spinning.
