Here is a tutorial I made over at TCSS on how to wire an Economy version Hasbro sound card. (Yes, I am talking about the cheap hasbro.) Here is the link and I hope it helps: http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com/showthread.php?t=7587

I like the new name, "economy soundcard", ...I think I'll use that terminology as well. thanks ;)
I don't use them much, ...but they are good boards for customers looking to keep the price down on a saber, ....or good to use while waiting on higher end sound boards too. :)
We have a slew of these boards left and are looking at using them in a low cost line of sabers to take to a convention.
Thanks for the refresher course in them. 8) 8)

Those are the cards I used to build my first two sabers. They work well and I have had not one problem with them. They are great for the low coast saber.

Thanks alot!
This will prove quite useful to us getting started with assembling the electronics!

Thanks Rhyen that's a great tutorial...the "economy" 'toy' saber soundboards are probably the most available right now and imo they will always be especially useful for 'gift' or 'lender' sabers; a young child or 'casual' SW fan won't know or care about how many user configurable soundbanks a Crystal Focus has but they will be WOWed by the "ooooh cool" glowing blade and that familiar 'Woooshummmmm' and may become the serious saberfans [or are we 'addicts'? lol] of tomorrow.

I agree with the others, this is a GREAT help for all those who are new to the saber scene and would like to construct a lightsaber with sound, but without the putting a dent in their wallets. ;D

Thanks. After all the tutorials and people having patients with me asking lots of question at TCSS, I wanted to contribute anyway I could.

Hey Rhyen, would you mind posting the pictures to here or PMing me to them? I was not able to access them at TCSS since I didn't have an account but I am very much interested in your tutorial :-).

I just emailed it to you in pdf format. Hope it helps you out.

So I have an old 1994 Kenner/ Hasbro ROTJ Luke Card(well the whole toy really) and it looks way to complicated for a first build. Has anyone use any of these for builds or should I just toss it? Oh it does in fact still work, I just tested it tonight.
-
Don't toss it :o
But don't use it either :D

so then I should blow it up then? ;D
