HYPERBLADE GRAFLEX REPLICA REVIEW!!
OK as some of you may know i decided to rebuild my graflex hyperblade by myself, baring in mind that this bring my 1st ever home built lightsaber..
i put all the electrics together before trying to fit it in the graflex to see what we were working with,
its a really simple set up and very easy to put together it basically just plugs together very little soldering needed
im sorry for not taking photos of this process (i will do on my next build)
you can have the blade lit up and working without a sound board plugged in but thats only half a lightsaber.. right?
the set up was the 11.1V 3cell triangular battery pack (which now states on the hyperblade web site not to use with the sound board) apparently it makes the sound board cut out / reset
but its either that or nothing... it does occasionally cut out but not very often mabey 1 in every 10 uses.
V2 led driver and mild duelling hyperflex
i decided to scrap the nylon blade il show why later in a pic..
once id found the best possible positions for the electrics i started to fit the peices bit by bit starting with the recharge port and speaker
right at the bottom of the hilt, next behind the speaker i put the battery pack
and right behind the battery i put the 2 boards sandwiched together to save room.. (its real tight in a graflex)
next all i had to do was connect the led driver wires to the led strip which i had previously secured in a standard ultraedge blade
i locked it in with a set screw and fastned up the graflex clamp.. no real problems
appart from a peice braking from the sound board during installation... easily solderd back on
i was so happy when i switched it on and whoomph it worked perfectly ..remember this was my 1st ever self built saber i was over the moon
on to the pics
in hilt recharge port with kill key
blaster / deflect button
ultraedge blade instead of nylon
this is how the nylon looked in comparison to the ultraedge, it was just way too bendy
red button - main switch
dark room shot
lit room shot
outdoor natural light shot
youtube vid... please note saber sound fx are custom made by me using the hyper sound tool
run times are a bit of a let down around 20 to 30 mins but apart from that its an awesome saber
that blade scrolling effect is just awesome i never knew how much i missed it with my lux sabers and in all honesty its a big part of a lightsaber
that together with the loud hiss start will never get old i just love it
i am planning 1 or 2 more sabers with this system im just waiting for the new brighter led strips to be released
