I'm sure it will be, Master Obi-wan, and not just because of how many of them there were made.  But of course I won't taunt you by showing off my entire Obi collection here, since that would be wrong. :D

(those FX pics should be uploaded soon)

Here we go.  I took a couple of shots from each angle and paired them accordingly.

(As always, click on the thumb for a full sized image)

I also added this emitter angle shot because I really think you get the feel of the size difference from it.

Hate to say it, but I don't think you could get an Obi saber (even a fan made) for less than JD's price, unless you went for a mini. :-\

JD isn't a member over here but he is great about answering emails so I'm sure he'd gladly give you any info he has on the current deal.  Chances are though it is a matter of supply rather than a cost he'll set, but with that great of a deal it's not surprising as to why.

Just found this thread,  thanks luke nice to see the comparison as always.   very similar in difference to the luke ROTJ because of the style i guess.   not as marked as the Mace but still quite a bit larger.      i look forward to the Yoda comparison, i wonder how it will fair.  i take it you have the Yoda LE BTW?

The Yoda LE is one of my favorites, indeed.  Actually I took a picture of the Ani LE next to the Yoda to give an idea of how good the FX scale looks, so I'm already ahead of the schedule on that.  :D

Except, now I really need to get my other two FX vs LE threads going. :-[

You see i prefer the Mace here, in temrs of it looks scaled. Accurate in terms of being scaled.

But the Obi-Wan matches lower down in the hilt but in the upper reacheas isn't scaled, just modified.

thats a true point christoph.   i really miss my mace sometimes, i sold it when i saw lukes pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just joking Luke,     i needed the cash and the mace was my least fave saber.   i did enjoy playing with it and the colour was awesome, i might get one again in the future when i am rich!    i will be getting the obi wan before anything else because it sounds and looks fantastic, the modded neck does not bother me as much as the seriously scaled up Mace does.   i wonder why they cant make it thinner with a thinner stronger blade and small LED's, i guess the cost is either too high, or the parts dont live up to expectation or dont exist.

Wow, that is quite  a bit of difference.

I have been tempted to get the ROTS Obi LE, but I knew if I got it I would HAVE to get the ROTS Anakin LE to go along with it as a "Battle of the Heroes" set.  They would be impulse buys to me as I am saving my money for the Boba Fett Helmet LE and now with the possibility of an SS X-Wing for next year!  I'm really going to be saving my pennies! haha

im holding out for the SS Star Destroyer, Good Lord could you imagine the price on that one, atleast 5,000.

Anyway on topic, the fat neck of the Obi-Wan never bothered me till i see it next to the LE, thanks Luke, lol jk.
The Mace isnt that bad tho, little hefty but overall it retained the shape well. Perhaps in years to come we will have a skinny neck Luke and Obi, if they find a good way to still have a durable blade
