DBZ soundfont DEmo UPDATE
« on: June 27, 2011, 07:28:29 PM »
Heyall  ;D

Ok so, yesterday i was very bored, and since we now have a great PC-U, the more reasons to go and start making some soundfonts, right?.
BTW, before i continue, Mods, if this post doesnt belong here, please put it where it may belong, i swear i spent minutes trying to decide where my post should be, im sorry if i messed up.

Ok, so..where was i, ah yes, so i was bored and Dragon Ball Z was on tv. Now, 10 years ago i was nuts for everything about DB, and it just came to me, i realized that i should make a font about DB.

Now, bare in mind, im no expert, it took me 6 hours to make, i used Final Cut Pro for the main editing,a wonderful tool called Cinematize to extract audio files from DVDs, then i used PC for the awesome Plecterlabs Sabersoundmixer2 (for CF5), then went back again to MAC FCP for trimming the final sounds...and then back again to PC for inserting the soundfont to my CF5.

I actually did everything in 3 hours, but when i put the soundfont into my SD card, and then into my Graflex, the saber would beep like crazy, so i spent 3 hours trying to figure out what was wrong. I recompressed to .wav on soundforge...nothing, i renamed the files,nothing... until i figured out one file apparently was corrupted.

Again, this was my second soundfont ever, on the vid i recognize one clash sound that has a delay, maybe another one, i have them pointed out, but in general im quite happy with the results.
On the vid i dont show the awesome force2 sound i did, because, honestly, i dont know how to trigger it  :P, the same for the poweronf, and the second poweroff...which by the way, the second poweroff is the same sound as second poweron (Kaioken).

I was going to to work more on this soundfont today, but, in the morning, my girl was playing Zelda Twilight Princes...and i went...hmmmmmm...

Zelda.

I just finished that soundfont an hour ago, its awesome, i think, but ill show it tomorrow.

OK, so, here it goes..

Ill make a better demo tomorrow along with Zelda, i hope you like it.

Cheers.

Actually turned out pretty nice man, especially liking that you used the original Japanese audio.

There is no poweronf. There is boot, hum, poweron, poweroff, swing 1-8, clash 1-8, blaster OR force; when demoing on a PC.

Correct for the PC,  but I believe he has a CFv5 in that Graflex in the video.

Those other effects must be turned on in the config file on your SD card.  You really should download and read the manual,  and if you have already,  read it a couple of more times.   ;) ;D

I thought i had them turned on.
Now that i think of it, since one file was corrupted i went back to the original files that came with the Graflex, so my tweaked config file is not there.
Thanks for the tip.
I might change one blaster for something more epic, ive been trying to look for a sound where a character throws several bursts at a time, that sound was great, or i would like to have a scream sound, like Goku boosting his kaioken, turning from SJ2 to SJ3.

lol that was pretty cool, I was trying so hard to figure out what the hum was because it sounded familiar but i couldnt put my finger on it and then i realized it was from the characters when they were recharging their Ki, and they had that Ki aura around them

Force 2 is a force clash, so aux button + clash will activate it.  Great font... I was just wondering about a DBZ font the other day, but I guess I no longer need to wonder if it would be awesome.
