The pistol used as the base for the blaster is an 1896 Mauser C-96 9mm Parabellum. The "flash suppressor" on the end of the barrel is believed to be the nozzle from an antique fire extinguisher. The scope used on the blaster was a WWII-era sighting scope made by a German company, Hensoldt Wetzlar. The "heat sink" on the front of the grip frame was made by gluing together three engine cylinders from a plastic model airplane kit.
