Thought this should be posted here too.
From RebelScum:

Unfortunately, someone stole the Luke V2 on display at the MR party last night.
This is much more than just a stolen item, this is an active sample being used in the process of releasing this piece and it being missing will cause delays in its release, which is a shame.
MR needs this piece back and has asked me to convey there would like to get it back, no questions asked.
I'm happy to assist in any way I can as well.

Hopefully this xxx will get caught quickly.

the LE V2?
if so, holy smokes :o
you'd think they would have that under lock and key
-
Yeah, sounds like someone dropped the ball on this one. ;)
I would have had this thing constantly watched.
-
Wow, I can't believe someone had the gall to steal an LE from the MR party. What kind of a jerk would do such a thing?
-
This is a discredit to SWfans everywhere! What kind of LOWLFE piece of trash steals a saber?
From a party held by the MAKERS even!
I hope they get drawn and quartered for this!
-
Well lets just hope they have the decency to return the item. I would forgive them if they did that, otherwise I'd have to get darkside on his or her behind.
-
Talk about the lowest of the low... I doubt this will ever be seen again. More than likely some greedy collector stole it for his/her personal collection. All though it wouldn't hurt to keep an eye on ebay incase if it pops up on there. If this culprit is found I hope he/she gets what is coming to him or her...
Even though I had no intentions on getting a Luke V2 LE but those who are getting one it sucks for them since there will probably be a slight delay in these being made or sent out. Unless that was a backup that Master Replicas brought with them to the party. I can't imagine them having the only Luke V2 out on display at a party like that.
I guess this proves that people will steal anything in this day in age...

It still SUCKS!
May I suggest a "Sticky" For this topic? ;)

This is terrible.
It is such a shame that fans cannot be trusted with something like this, even at a party thrown by the manufacturer.
Probably just some opportunist who couldn't help himself.
I do agree though, that I would have expected MR to have had the piece more securely guarded.
I do hope that it turns up, although I seriously doubt that it will.
I had no intentions of buying a V2 either, but for the sake of those that did, I do hope that this doen't cause too many delays.
-
Most uncivilized. >:( :(
-
Yes please if any of you hear about it you can contact us and we will pass any info you have on to MR.
then we will find the culprit >:( and have a proper Lightsaber flogging ;)
-
:DLatest news from rebel scum and from amy---it was sent back to them in the mail!!That's sweet!! ;D
-
I'm glad that the culprit hd the decency to return it ;)
-
Wow! This is a a turn up for the books!
Strange that someone would have the lack of scruples to steal it in the first place, and then have a fit of conscience and return it!
I bet they have photographed it and measured every dimension with the intention of making copies...
-
They could have as easily photographed it on the table as sooooo many other people did.
I think they sent it back because they realized it would have been like trying to sell an Original
Monet Painting.
And what Buyer would pay for it knowing its the "stolen" V2
it would carry a dark cloud over it for ever...
At least it's returned now, but I still say who ever took it in the first place is a weak minded fool :P
I'm sure from now on it will be in a proper case screwed closed and bolted to the table ;)

You are right there, Master Yoda.
It would have been impossible to sell and where could you display it?
It was probably an 'opportunist' thief who didn't really think it out very well...
