Would it be possible to refit one of those to fit a normal Lux saber withouth a thinner emitter section?

You could probably cut apart the claw mount and JB weld the claws and a little of the black mount onto a MHS style 2 emitter. Not sure if you're going the MHS route, but it's an option.
