Title: Ki-Adi-Mundi Books & Comics
Post by: Ki-Adi on February 11, 2006, 06:50:52 PM
Hello everyone. I started a thread on Ki-Adi's books and comics because he is my favourite. I have recently ordered and recieved 2 Ki-Adi-Mundi comics, Prelude To Rebellion TPB, and Outlander TPB. I have no clue what TPB means I just know it has all the comics from the series wrapped into one. I have read Prelude and it is a great comic one my favourites. I love how Cerea looks when it starts out. I am reading Outlander right now but haven't finished it. I should start to read it more because it looks like it could get more exciting. I want to hear everyone's opinions on these books/comics. But make sure you put a spoiler warning for those who are still reading them. I dodn't want anyone giving away the ending for Outlander before I have finish reading it. haha I think the illistrautions are better in Prelude then in Outlander. Also is there any books on Ki-Adi that anyone knows about? All I know is of these 2 comics made by Dark Horse Comics.

TPB stands for trade paperback (I'm pretty sure...), and you're right- it's just a single collection of a whole bunch of individual comic issues.  Beats having to find all the individual issues for a series/story, but I've always been partial to having the individual comics.

Actually, no, I haven't read any of the Ki-Adi comics, or even Star Wars comics for that matter.  I may pick some up one day, but for now, I'm sticking with my superhero comic books. :)

Nice. I would suggest Prelude to Rebellion well for one thing I like it and because it is the only star wars comic I have read fully through. I'll let you know how Outlander is.

I have just finished Outlander. It was pretty good. I still think Prelude is better though. I would reccommend Outlander only to those who like Ki-Adi, Tuskens, and Aurra Sing. Basically it takes place all on tatooine. I would reccommend Prelude more because it is easy to follow along and is more exciting in my case.

Thanks DT. It is from the comic Outlander. haha I have another one with Ki-Adi and a Krayt Dragon I think it is. I like that one better but this one with Aurra Sing is pretty sweet also.

Is one of the reasons you like Ki-Adi-Mundi so much have to do with all the wives he has? :D  I would recommend the Maul TPB.  In that story he's a bad mammerjammer and doesn't get cut in half.  The issue of SW Tales where he's cloned and fights Vader was cool too, even though I think he could take Vader.

You know, I completely forgot about Ki-Adi having a family...

i find it a little odd that in ROTS Ki adi is seen as  a hologram reprisentation of himself in the council chambers, yet he is sat perfectly in his chair.  most other times hologram images are standing.

sorry for bringing this up but it bugs me.

as for books and comics on him, he is a good background character though i dont know wether i would read the comics / books any time soon

Ki-Adi does have many wifes. haha Ya I just ordered Maul TPB. It should arrive in a couple days because it shipped 2 days ago. So please don't tell me what happens. haha Is when Ki-Adi on the hologram is that when Yoda is on Kashykk or w/e? If so I think that was because it was like a mini jedi council meeting. That or maybe Ki-Adi is lazy? hahaha I am just kidding nah he strikes me as a peaceful jedi. That and he is pretty old right? Have you noticed the white hair?

Ya I just recieved my Darth Maul TPB. I already read the whole thing and it is pretty awesome. I would still have to say I like Prelude to Rebellion the best. I think for my next TPB it will be on one about Boba Fett I know I have seen some. haha

Well I am currently on the 8th Chapter of Heir to the Empire. I am loving it. I can't wait to get more into it. This books paints such a picture that I could actually make a movie in the exact image in my head.

The Heir trilogy is such a fun read, you make me want to go and dig out my copies even now Ki!  Glad to hear you're enjoying it so far, but you will be in for a pleasant surprise, as it only gets better! :D

Ya Luke I am excited to read. I would have to say my favourite book is The Hobbit. But so far this one is probably second.

And you're just getting started, wait till you get into the second and third books of the series, really follows the OT sense of a trilogy, though perhaps with an even stronger ending.

Luke you are making me want to read! ahahaha My search for knowledge is far and the road ahead is long, about 1,000 pages long, but I shall bare this burden and read til the end! hahaha I can't wait till I get more into it. It real paints a picture, I am just imagening Luke casting out his lightsaber and doing damage! hahaha

Your enthusiasm is returning the favor Ki!  I'm tempted to go pick up my copy right now, but unfortunately I just don't have the time to read them all over again. :'(

*Waves Hand* Luke you shall read them over again! hahahaha It's ok Luke, maybe just try reading a little bit at a time. I try and read at least one chapter a day, usually right before I go to bed. But hopefully you can find the time Luke, I know how bad I am wanting to read The Hobbit again, I haven't read it in a year or two. But I have to finish this trilogy first. ;)
