Hear is my entry. I already sent it to Barriss.
I lost my leg on September 25th 2009. I have not walked for over a year. I just started walking (with the aide of a cane) on Jan. 12th 2010.
I have entered a 5k race that my old Physical Therapy clinic is having on Fed 27th 2010. My goal is to finish that race!
I am hoping I can at least jog most of it. We will see. I have a lot of work to do hear on in just to get prepared for it.
I get exhausted just walking around at the Boland Prosthetic clinc where I now work. My muscles are just not use to walking and have atrophied
a little. I don't care tho! I will finish that race! I am ready for it! Well at least I am ready in my heart! My body....not so much!  ;)

Amp, I can't tell you that I'm rooting for you in the contest, but you have ALL MY SUPPORT AND GOOD WISHES AND POSITIVE JU-JU.

Not sure that this was still on but I thought I would let y'all know how the race ended up and all.
So, I did it. It was hard and I had to finish on my crutches but, I still did it. A 5k is a lot longer then it looks!
My next goal is to finally go out as the AmpTrooper and do some trooping with the 501st.
I am on a hold right now do to problems with my leg ( or lack there of). But hopefully things will get better soon.
I was going to be in the Atlanta St. Patrick's Day Parade but, that is this weekend and I don't think I will be better by then.  :-\
Oh well. :) Good times are coming!  ;D  Oh, another goal I achieved but did not list is that I started the first Middle Georgia Amputee Support Group!
Our first meeting is tonight! I think this one is most important. There are people out there that really need to just be in fellowship with other positive amputees. Please send out your prayers for that! I see great things happening there!
