As proud owner of Madcow's Curved Bane #9 from the first run, I can tell you this saber is
simply one of a kind. Incredibly beautiful, well balanced, the Krayt bone grip on the Bane is so realistic and the overall saber is such an incredibly unique design. Anyone on the fence, are you kidding me? GET ON THE LIST while you can!

Two curiosity questions.

Can the opening to the crystal chamber be elongated, so the entire bar graph is visible at a straight on look? I noticed in the video and pictures that only about 3-4 bars can be seen and the saber must be tilted in order to view the full bar graph.

Can a low profile thumb screw of some type be used in place of the small flat head screw that is removed so the krayt bone can be pulled back?

 :)

I had to look for awhile, but I found a pic;

No the opening cannot be altered. But the effect is much better in person than in pics.

In the image above you can see a standard 6-32 thread computer case thumbscrew in the bone segment.

Yes I've noticed that when I was reading over his past saber runs --- and that's always a good thing!  But it also helps if you're not doing 20+ saber runs too.

Progress pics.
This is what "hand-crafted" means. In other words - the parts that take all the personal attention and elbow grease.

Last time I coined the phrase "Tatooine sandstorm" to describe all the sand from dremmel cutoff wheels. the storm is not as bad this time around.

I have to say that these look far better than the ones in the first run; there is more "texture" to it I find --- looks more realistic.

After watching the progress, I for one regret not jumping on this when I had the chance...

Turgon, I wish I had put name on this run as well , had a chance and decided no.
I have noticed a few people on the list try to sell sabers in their collection, very interesting.....

not over yet

I saw your instruction on this saber today on Facebook. Would it be possible and would you be willing to create another one of these for me? I have been collecting and building sabers for dueling for years now and this Bane saber is perhaps the finest crafted hilt I have ever seen. Just amazing artistry on it and if you are willing to create another I would be overjoyed to purchase one from you.

If all goes well I may have a Bane saber to auction in the winter sometime.

Sorry the pictures aren't very good, my good camera is at my office. I will try and take some better ones tomorrow. I'd like to do a little review for you guys, but there are two reasons I'm not going to attempt it. First, I'm not very good at it, and second, I don't think words can really describe this saber. You have to see it in person, and you have to hold it. I remember early on in my saber researching/collecting phase, seeing one of the first run of this saber, and thinking it was the most impressive saber I had ever seen. I was not wrong!!

Thanks Rob!! It's even better than I had imagined it would be.

Very nice PitDroid, very nice!  If only I too lived there but I don't like the cold and long winters there, not to mention the huge chunks of snow you get there.  I'm satisfied with the snow, more or less, we get in Toronto  ;)

Does it not look like the Bane saber belongs in that niche, simple, with the brown background contrasting the white Krayt bone and silver hilt and the Sanjuro stand not overpowering the presence of the hilt, rather complementing the whole set up.  I love that pic very much!

Got mine a few hours earlier!  Just got in from work... what can I say, I'm giddy as a kid, lol.  Overall impressions and pics to follow but here's one pic to boot; not very good quality as I was in a hurry to shoot it.  It'll suffice for now.  As you can see, I've replaced the screw that holds the tail part of the Krayt bone with what Rob suggested.  I think it looks better that way since I view this saber with elegance but with built-in functionality --- and it makes possible to faster and easily remove move the cover to reveal the crystal chamber.

Still enjoying this saber, can't put it down.  I have the Adi on my left hand and the Bane on my right.  Can't get enough of both to stop taking more pics of the Bane.  I will eventually....

Quick question to anyone:  Does the board automatically go to the prior sound bank if there is no soundtrack in iSaber?   I noticed that when I chose iSaber, nothing played and when I pressed the ignition button, the sound font before iSaber played....

I'm guessing that the soundtrack, Imperial March, was not loaded onto the SD....  I've yet to take out the SD Card.

I think it does automatically go to the previous sound bank if there's nothing in iSaber, just like it goes back to the previous menu sound after you stop iSaber.  The weird thing is is that I thought the Imperial March came standard with it.  I'm not sure in that regard.

It does come standard.  Rob provided a CD with Bane sound fonts and the Imperial March soundtrack --- but is it loaded? --- that is the question....

Imperial March is loaded on isaber with the Bane sabers. It should play automatically when isaber is selected from the menu. If it reboots for whatever reason - it will go to the previously selected sound bank.

As everyone involved in the run is now aware - I was unable to source the same grip material for the last half of the run sabers after I unexpectedly ran out. I would have preferred all 2nd run sabers to be identical, but since I already shipped several out - this will just add another chapter to the story of the Bane Curved Saber design.

If you have another Micro SD card handy - format it, and then load the contents from the CD. try that. it's possible you have a slow SD card.

This is my experience with one of my  CFv6.1, it is so touchy that it will skip to different font boots and play other fonts.  I finally figured out that for my CF v6 is I needed to format it first and then drag and drop only two completed banks at a time into the SD card.  That was the most amount of bank files I could get away with without having to do one at a time. Once everything was transference over to SD card that was it. I could tweak config files  on the card but that was about it. If I tried to change a boot font later... The CF would beep and chirp every single time.  I would need to reformat every time.  So my advice would be create a file on your computer and save your in saber banks and choose the font and boots you need. Then only when ready... Follow steps above.  Remember, I'm only  speaking  about the quirkiness of one of my CF v6's.  My others are friendly and play along with anything I want to configure or switch around.  I hope my two cents helps with your iSaber.

I'm so glad I managed to get on this run, thanks for doing one!

Jango is right. This is a best practice, and eliminates problems due to a few odd things that computers sometimes do with hidden files etc.

Well, I just received a delivery confirmation via email so I run up to my mail box where we have a community mail room and there is no package >:(  Usually they leave a key in my mailbox that will open a larger locker for packages such as this, but I got no such key.  No package at my front door either >:(

Just got off the phone with the post office and my mail carrier is gone for the day, so all she can do is leave my mail carrier a note for friday (thursday is a holiday).

Needless to say I am VERY ANGRY with the post office right now and quite a bit worried as well.
How hard is it to deliver a package to the proper address?!!
Someone is going to be very surprised if they open my package.  Wish me luck.

No update yet.  I wont know anything until the post office opens on Friday (which will be in the next few hours).
I am hoping the letter carrier just forgot to deliver it.  Fingers crossed.

I had a similar situation but it was an attempted delivery and a delivery notice was left on my door.  The thing is that I was home all day during the supposed "attempted delivery" and no delivery notice was left.  Because there was a "Road Closed" sign in the opening of my street due to construction, I figured the postman didn't bother going in and my suspicions were correct when I received the delivery notice, with the regular mail the next day, indicating that this was so; but by then, I had already picked up my saber early in the morning.

Good luck man....

I got it !!!!

I had to confront the mail lady today who was less than thrilled to help me figure this out.
Long story short, she put my key to the locker where my package was contained in someone elses mailbox.  Thank god that person only checks their mail once a week so the key was still sitting in their mailbox.  Had I not confronted her today, then I would not have recieved it today either as it would have still been waiting for someone else to retrieve it ::)

Anyway, I am thrilled to have this saber in hand now and it is just as awesome as I had thought it would be  ;D
Haven't got to play with it too much yet but I have fired it up and checked out the reveal and this saber is amazing.

An update on my iSaber SD card issue: Rob sent me a replacement SD card and I received it today.  The soundtrack, The Imperial March, now plays as should.

Thanks Rob!
